Hello everybody I am an elderly lady ( accually very old ) with a 43 downs daughter Andrea loves to socialize and I'm lucky to have day support for her cos I now have mobility problems .I am delighted to find this site .

My autistic son also likes singing and sometimes vocalisation is the only way in which he can express himself. You are an amazing person to have managed to care for your daughter so well.

Hi Lovesinging, it's amazing how music resonates with our children isn't it? My precious daughter has just celebrated her 60th birthday. She has a LD and various other health issues. We go to the theatre and "tribute" nights as often as we can. She has no cognisant speech and a voice like mine (we would NEVER get into any choir) but she sings with gusto and dances like a diva. We have been welcomed everywhere we go, people are fantastic and take pleasure is seeing her enjoying herself so much.

Andrea loves karaoke she sings her best which considering her speech isn't good you can now hear all the words clearly .
