I am appointee for my 20yr old son and his DWP benefits are paid into a bank account just in my name NOT an appointee bank account. I was wondering if its ok to have my husbands name put on the account and make it joint bank account with my husband incase anything was to happen to me e.g. if I was ill or die. I know about deputyship but like others have said this can be an expensive option. Also what are the benefits of an appointee bank account and are there any other options? Thank you

Hi there. As I understand it you can only have one DWP appointee. This doesn't build in much contingency but they are strict about it.
