Scans last week, in a holding pattern😬

Mark had his CT Brain, Pelvis, and Abdomen last week and all came back NED. We are pleased, but also anxious. He has not been able to have any immunotherapy treatments for over 3 months because it was attacking his stomach and esophagus, and the Dr said he didn’t want it to attack his heart. 😩. The Dr. said we are going to be in a holding pattern. He will go in every 2 weeks for labs, and 3 months for scans, so next MRI Brain, and Pet Scan is in September unless something develops before then. Dr. says we are going to hold the chemo back until something develops, and that we MAY be able to try the immunotherapy again at that time as well. It is a little hard, but no news is good news for now, but Mark is waiting for the other shoe to drop, I try to keep him out of that mode. Mark is extremely tired all the time, so they have upped his steroids again hoping that will help him. Praying all goes well for a good long time. We are praying for you all. Thank you as always for being there for me, as I hope I am to you all when I can.

We try to take advantage of these between times as I know others also do. It’s good to be in wait mode with NED under your belt.

We are aggressively reviewing with our financial planner dual approaches: what if W can keep working 1-3 years and what if he had to suddenly stop in 3 months. And lining up disability documents through work and for SSDI. Pricing insurance.

Missy,

This is something we need to actively start working on this, and trust. Thank you for the reminder.

Michele,

That is good news; I understand your anxiety though. I feel that holding out while NED is positive, things are ok while still having the chance to introduce the medicine again later on, when/if necessary. Enjoy the in between time!
