Endoscopy today

Mark had his MRI Brain & PET Scan Monday, everything came out ok🙏🏻. This is a mixed Blessing as for last 2 months he has had rapid weight loss and constant nausea. Very concerning to me and the Dr. Mark is having an Endoscopy today to check the lining of his stomach, as they said scans could possibly miss cancer there. He has had the start of Barrett’s Esophogus, and HPylori for years so checking that as well. I am praying they find no new Cancer, but they do find the reason for the rapid weight loss and constant nausea. I thank God, Dr. Steven O’Day, and these medications for every day we have been blessed with thus far. We still cannot believe that from Stage IV Advanced Metaststic Melanoma diagnosis in 7/17 and only 3-7 weeks. He is still here with us today. God is good. Praying for some good and helpful answers next week🙏🏻 So then we can focus on Easter a little and try to plan a visit to see my grandchildren in Tennessee😄

Side note during all this,

1. Mark had another surgery removing a suspicious indented area on his back which proved to be severely atypical . His poor body looks like he’s been in a bad car accident.

2. Mark developed Gout last month in his toe, never even heard of this before now. He’s doing better as he had to go back on 40 mg prednison so after tests we have to try tapering off Steroids again, which for him is REALLY tough we have to take it very slow.

So so happy to hear the scans came back clean 🙏🏻 that’s amazing! I would think the Opdivo is taking a toll on his stomach. That is a common side effect of these drugs. God has blessed you guys for sure and I’m so glad! Keep us updated on how the endoscopy goes.

running to ground concerning symptoms is hard work. I'm glad you and Ryan are persevering, and have the balance of grandchildren to visit as some life worth looking forward to.
