Hi, if it happens a lot I'd speak to GP, it may be caused by something other than ME/CFS
Hi, I thought I’d google it (as I do with everything) and found this. Realised I do sometimes jerk awake again when I’m falling asleep but it’s usually cos I’ve tripped up in a dream… I did actually assume that happens to everyone but perhaps not?

I first mis-read your post ("Does anyone else wake up suddenly while sleeping with a jerk") to be a question about being in bed with poorly chosen sleeping partner. 🤣😂
Do you mean waking with a physical convulsion or with a mental jerk? I don't have a problem with the first, but I do occasionally have the unpleasant mental sensation that an internal gremlin with a nasty sense of humour abruptly flips some switch that takes from sleeping to wakefulness with no transition between. It IS disconcerting, but everyone I know has that experience sometimes. I suspect that having ME, with its sleep and fatigue issues, heightens the unpleasantness of those occasions.
