Got a email about the Manchester marathon today and I'm in the pink wave πŸ‘‹ πŸ’—. This is now getting serious I've been feeling unwell this week a bit like flu I suppose πŸ™ƒ even though I've been working and only been to the gym once. I need a good kick up the you know what and I need to start moving and upping my game. My son in law hasn't got his email yet from Manchester marathon do the generally arrive at different times?

Exciting, and hopefully just the kick you need.

Race packs for events often arrive over a few days when sent by post, but you would think emails should arrive pretty soon after each other.

In the meantime, you can check the start list to check he is registered, and in which start wave, here: manchestermarathon.co.uk/st...

Did you check if he was on the start list?

Yes checked he's definitely not but also that says batch 1 so I presume more to come?

Roll on batch 2 then! Reassuring that others are in the same position. Not sure if you can see how many names are on there already, but if you can that might give you a clue as to whether there are many missing (assuming it's sold out)

DEFINITELY have to wait at the moment and email if it doesn't come through

Maybe they do send the emails at slightly different times. Has your son in law received his email now?

Can your son find himself in the start times list (link above)?

I would have expected emails to go out at the same time. Has he checked his junk folder?

The pacers are odd. I want the 4:45 pacer which is in your wave Tessie. I’m not dropping back though as a 10.50 start is quite late enough!

All the best with the remainder of your training, and I’m sure your son in law will hear soon.

He got a email back saying mid April I'm hoping he's in my wave to begin with.

14k run today and it was tough really tough πŸ˜ͺ I'm definitely doubting I can do this marathon at the moment

Katnap profile image
KatnapMarathonβ€’ in reply toTessie66

The runs get tough because you're starting to run on tired legs. This is deliberate in training to get your body and mind ready for the day.

Your plan will have a 2 week taper where the mileage and intensity will reduce. Your legs will be recovered for the big day. This part of the training is the hardest. Don't worry! You're going great! πŸ’ͺπŸ’ͺ
