Another weekend of wet and windy weather!🌬️🌧️ Regular checking of my weather app failed to find a ‘good’ time to run unless I was prepared to get up early…I wasn’t! 🛌🤣 My plan was to head out whilst it was at least dry and get the bulk of my long run done before the rain blew in. 👍

After a couple of k on my local roads, I headed to the trails, bridleways and public footpaths for the rest of my run. The weather was blowy and the skies were grey but this is pretty much how I like it.💕🏃‍♀️ There seemed to be a lot of dog walkers out - I think getting it done before the rain! However, not long before hitting 10k, the rain arrived as promised and the winds really picked up! 😬 I headed down to our local country park to do my last few k. Running past a deserted children’s play area - I was pretty much alone for the last 3k! I took the photo above on finishing and am somewhat disappointed at how calm it looks as it was actually pouring with rain and so blowy…honest!

Anyway, soon back home for a hot shower and happy with my 14k.

I believe you Sandraj39 . It was certainly blowing a Hooley down on the coast and has been the most miserable grey day. Well done for going out in it and running. We saw a few hardy runners as we drove past the prom this afternoon and were very grateful for yesterday’s dry day.

Wow, fantastic Sandra - 14k 👍😀 (I have only managed 5k this whole week!!). Very wet and windy here in Somerset today but we did manage a dry dog walk this afternoon.

The type of run that feels great; in retrospect ! Tough conditions, good distance, followed by hot shower and coffee (in my case),then food.

Yep trying to find a window in the weather is part of the sport at this time of year. All of my favourite runs are too muddy so it’s pavement pounding street runs until the dryer weather. 😕
