Good morning all! First day of 4 days of no work today! A chill in the air this morning but nothing too bad once I got moving. Started steadily and built towards the end. Was very pleased to have been able to maintain that 5min km pace over last 2km and does give me hope that I may be able to get that sub 25min 5k in the next few months.
Happy running all!

The careful start on a cold day is essential in my book. Well done for getting out there; refreshing and all that, but a post run warm shower and hot cuppa is the best part!π
I feel warm enough a couple of minutes after stepping out of the house, but I need my slow 1k warm up lap to be sure my muscles are ready for action. I have just attacked the outside of my left calf again; it needs loosening up after every run at present. I think it will be all of the sliding around in the mud and leaf litter.
Running on packed snow is quite pleasant but not far and not for long. The last time I ran on the snowy trail a local runner ran with me. Safety in numbers sorta thing π.
Iβve started a run as snow was beginning to fall, thinking not too much of it, and got caught out when I should have turned back π.
Well done Jerico - Speedy Gonzales is back! They are some seriously good times, especially compared to mine. Hopefully if I can drop a bit more weight and improve the fitness I'll be able to get a little faster again (although I've never cracked the 30m 5K yet). Enjoy your time off mate.
Thanks SD! Not down to fighting weight yet but have dropped 13lbs since starting back up. Hoping to get down to about 160lbs I think, 179.8lbs on my last weigh in. Long way to go! Getting fitter and feeling a bit trimmer, hopefully the speed will come naturally as I build up the running π€π»
Fantastic - nearly a stone off that's great. I'm down 7 lbs so far which I'm pleased with. I'm sure it's helping and my clothes are definitely fitting a little better too. It's good to have a goal - like your 5K in 25 minutes - but dont push it too far to get injured. You're already leaving me for dust π¨ππ
Just back from my first 28 minute run (well 27 due to issues) and that went well. Will try and get a post up.
I'm certainly not pushing it, havnt felt ike I've forced anything yet and havnt left myself a panting mess at the end π in fact my breathings been pretty good and returns to normal quickly once I stop. Havnt really been monitoring the HR too much but I'm guessing that drops back to normal pretty quickly too. I'm hoping the weight loss and fitness will help with my blood pressure which was very high and forced me straight onto medication when doc saw my numbers ππ he said getting fit and losing weight should help but a lot of it is genetics and I could just be stuck with it no matter what. I'm testing the theory and would like to end up off BP medication it all goes well π€π»
