I had originally put my name down for the 10 miles but after the sore knee from Bath it was taking a bit longer to get the longer runs done and I ran out of time before the HU event kicked off so I thought it would be sensible to do the 10K instead. In the end it was the right decision because my knee is absolutely fine and I feel far happier building up at a slower pace with no pressure.
I couldnβt run last Sunday because friends had invited us to their village open gardens and, as they always come to our open gardens I felt we couldnβt say no! But you know that my two biggest passions are running and gardening and so it was a small sacrifice π₯° The gardens were glorious and I kept thinking of my VRBs out there running their events. My only regret was that I couldnβt run at the same time as so many on Sunday but still, I thought of everyone on my run yesterday π₯° and remembered all the brilliant reports so far. Iβve loved reading them all.
I had planned to get up really early yesterday but in the end I slept in until just before 9! But the sleep worked wonders and I found myself raring to go after porridge and a big mug of tea.
The weather was gorgeous and I felt really good, so I just kept going according to feel and didnβt worry too much about the pace. I loved it!
The sun came out and it was quite hot but then the trees gave some welcome shade and cooler temperatures. Somehow rather perfect π₯°
Iβve sort of started another HM plan and so was due to run 11.5K so when I did 10K I stopped the watch, had a wee breather (my face was a bit red by this stage π₯΅) and then continued very slowly to get the distance done and ticked off my plan. 1:07:54 for the 10K.
Needless to say Iβve already ordered my bling π β€οΈπ€£
Happy days π€
