Loved this 10k over in Aldershot this morning, raising money and awareness for Little Troopers charity, supporting military children.
The weather had threatened terrible things over the past few days but we were so fortunate that although it was wet underfoot and a bit drizzly at times, the worst of the rain had passed. That felt like a win!π
Great setting and start at the military athletics stadium before heading out around the local sports fields and down to the canal path where we ran until the halfway point. Then it was a different route back along the roads and sports fields before re-entering the stadium for a dash (!) to the finish line!
This was a lovely inaugural event and was well organised and run by Raceways and marshalled by the army cadets.π After prizes for the speedsters, there was also a 1k family fun run which was fab and well attended by many βLittle Troopersβ!ππ
Very happy with my bling and although I hadnβt planned to get a T-shirt when I signed up, I loved the colour so thought it was worth an extra Β£6 to get one on the day -and of course a worthy cause.
The usual banana and water at the finish line but with the bonus of a free whippy ice cream (with chocolate sauce of course) too! π¦We were lucky to join the queue before it got too long!
All in all, a lovely morning and definitely an event I would return to.
The photo is a cold me before the start!π€£ β¦and my finish time was 1:06:59.π

That sounds such a lovely event, definitely one for the calendar next year. And a great looking medal too π₯°
It is cold at the minute. I was thinking the other day that I should wear gloves again but then thought, No, I canβt wear gloves in April for heavenβs sake.
Congratulations Sandraj39 and brilliant time. Loving the T-shirt and fab bling. You do look cold π₯Ά. I remember Aldershot when I was in the Army . What a great cause. Well done !πππ₯³π₯³πββοΈxx
Superb run and a great cause Sandra. It sounds like a happy extended family occasion. Well organised too; it would have to be with the military involved. Just a wonderful joyful occasion.π
That sounds like a super event. Its hard to imagine you eating an ice cream about an hour after that photo - your hands give the imlressiin you're freezing π₯It's great to see you ticking off these events after your recent struggle back to fitness; it's certainly giving me hope, and lots of others too I would imagine π
