It may be pretty wintery out there, but that doesn't deter our fabulous HU racers! Please, wrap up warm and raise your pompoms to support these lovely runners as only you can!!!
All our events take place on Sunday -
πFirst up, we have the now familiar winter trio of TailChaser , Katnap and Shake-and-run who are all running the Milton Keynes Winter HM. We hear it has fabulous bling (large and awesome π₯³), the lure of which should overcome any hurdles between start and finish lines. We look forward to some blingtastic photos! π₯π₯π₯
πNext, Reggit will be climbing - oops sorry, running - the 'slightly undulating' Longridge Christmas Pudding 7; with an elevation gain of 270m over 7 miles, you will have every excuse to consume that Christmas Pudding reward as you recover Reggit!
π Finally, Cowladyrunning has entered the Crickhowell Santa Dash 5k, but is currently battling illness and not sure whether or not she will be able to run after all. Whether you run or not CLR, we send you best wishes and hope you feel much better very soon. We'll shake your pompoms quietly just in case π₯°
Good luck to each of you; enjoy and keep warm! As always, we look forward to your race reports.
Is there anyone else with a race or event in the coming week? If so, let us have the details in the comments below.
To everyone else, have a wonderful weekend π

π½ If you have an event in December and would like a pompom cheer from your VRBs on the Friday beforehand similar to this one then head here to give us the details:
π Run a new distance? 10 miles, Half Marathon, Metric Marathon (26.2K), Marathon, Ultra (50K and beyond). You can claim a shiny new badge by going here:
Wooooooh! Pom-poms shaking here, scattering snow everywhere (ok, maybe I left them outside and theyβre just wet! π ). I think Katnap , Shake-and-run and myself have got off easily with flat Milton Keynes! All the very best to Reggit and Cowladyrunning (I hope you recover in time. Iβve run in Crickhowell and itβs quite lumpy too. Lovely but lumpy. ) π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³π₯³πͺπͺπͺπͺ
Lazy West Country pom poms shaking for all you heroic runners this weekend. Iβve gone right off the boil running-wise, so Iβm going to pretend Iβm one of you guys and virtually run with you! π Letβs go and get that bling. β€οΈ
Well done the all weather runners! Flippers would have been better than running shoes this week. Never mind; go for it you crazy people and bring home the goodies!!πππππβοΈπ¨οΈποΈ
thank you everyone for your support. Iβm still not sure how I ended up entering a HM?? So grateful to the Kats for providing the transport (even if it is a stupid oβclock start) and agreeing to wait for me a the end to give me a lift home. See you all on the other side (hopefully π³π³π³).
Anyway itβs done and dusted - a Xmas pudding and drink coaster are the reward for my efforts - theyβd run out of bling when i finished. My thighs where screaming in parts after yesterdays run and I had to walk a couple of sections I wouldnβt usually do. However I got a 5k PB and PBβs on most segment times on Strava.
Absolutely loved the race number - had people commenting how unusual it was - could cause offence to some, be warnedβ¦
Thanks all - no more races until that Marathon in April (probably - although there is a fairly local 10k on NYE π€) need to focus now.
Thanks to everyone for the thoughts - I didn't run in my races this weekend sadly as I ended up with a full on cold or whatever it was.... Still recovering this week π Disappointed but then again the weather was horrible....π Those were my first ever no shows at an event which felt bad! Hope everyone else was fine!
No show is a hard decision to make, but it was the right one. Never an easy option. Do feel better soon. Hope you'll now be fighting fit for Christmas xxx
So many of us have this cold. Wise decision to cancel, pushing through even if you were able to may just prolong the cold, if it's anything like mine it'll go on long enough without taking risks. Get better soon.
