Hi all

2 reports in 1! Firstly, look at that beautiful Rutland 10Km medal, it is so pretty, definately the best one Ive ever had. Not sure the picture shows it off well, but believe me it is gorgeous, the pink glitter is definately a hit with me (Im assuming they have used bio degradable glitter!)

Last Sunday's 15 mile river challenge, certainly was a challenge, it was across all sorts of terrain but very pretty following the river paths and only some road running. Some of you will be aware Ive had a few health issues lately and so energy has been a bit lacking, so I knew it wouldn't be a quick time for me, not just health wise but I haven't ran 15 miles without stopping for quite some time.

4 of us decided to run it together and let the rest of our group run ahead. Little did I know that 2 of the girls had a secret code to keep an eye on me, so one was always behind me (I thought she was just tired but apparently she was just checking that I wasn't flagging πŸ˜‡). Have to say the first 10 miles were hard, and at one point I did say I wasn't sure at that point whether I was enjoying it but it was a beautiful day and we all supported each other along the way, but the finish line was very welcome, as was the nice big slice of lemon drizzle cake!!

Then onto last nights 10Km night race, have to say I have never sensed so much excitement and buzz as there was at the start line, Not sure of the number of entries, but it certainly seemed really busy. They set us off in waves because of the numbers which seemed to work well. I had a hospital procedure on Wed morning so again I knew I needed to take it a bit steady, so again one of the girls ran with me, We crossed the finish line at 57.32, so all things considered I was fairly pleased. Felt ok until mile 5 and then really had to dig deep, plus the ground in places was rather uneven so we did have to be really careful. It was a very interesting race, haven't done a night race before, and seeing everyone running all lit up with running lights, and glow sticks was such a pretty sight. Im definately doing that one again next year, even more so if the medal is as nice! I wore some very bright pink glittery lipstick which Im sure could be seen for miles, along with my number which as you can see had a few little additions added to it, which included glow in the dark paint , just to add some sparkle πŸ˜€

We got a cup of hot chocolate at the end too, which was an additional bonus, but the medal, well I can't stop looking it!!πŸ˜‚πŸ…

PS, just noticed yet again the picture has uploaded on its side, no idea why, just don't hurt your neck when you turn your head to the side to look at it!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Beautiful medal Hedgehogs123 and well done on running those two races, especially the 10K night race, don't worry about the photo being on it's side, I didn't hurt my neck looking at it.

Ooh yes, gorgeous!!!

Well done! That's a great time for 10k, but for 10k in the dark, on uneven ground when you did 15 miles a few days before AND aren't well... it's just amazing! i hope you're feeling very pleased with yourself, you should be. Take care now, and good luck with the hospital stuff; hope they get to the bottom f it and get you all revved up to go again soon 😘

Thank you, the Rutland medal is truly 😍. I'm definitely going to have to treat myself to a medal holder now, at the moment one of my big teddies is wearing them all!! 🀭

Your medals are keeping big teddy company while you run, I have 1 πŸ˜€and it hangs around in different places but I'm hoping for another in January

You must do one great fun!! Yep going to take the winter to get back to full fitness, and then as I'll be back, looking for more pretty medals and not forgetting the cake!😊

I’ve not decided what to do post marathon πŸ€” A local 10k happens in early December so that’s a possibility. My town’s 10k is suddenly back on and is pencilled in for March. There’s an ultra in Feb which I’d love to have a crack at but not much time recovery wise between it and my marathon. If my ankle holds up in the marathon πŸ€žπŸ™ I might just go for it rather than look for reasons not to. The longer I put it off the older I get πŸ«£πŸ‘΅πŸ»

Nooooo don't say that that!! I make my self feel better at Parkrun as most of those who pass me, are 20 or 30 years younger!! 🀭🀭😊

Fantastic. Both runs sound amazing, but also pretty challenging. I’ve never managed a sub 60 10k even in the light and on flat roads so well done. Brilliant πŸ₯³πŸ₯³

Blimey! Well done Hedgehogs πŸ‘πŸ‘ For a night run and considering your health issues you’ve done remarkably well! And I just loved reading about your support team and how they looked out for you. That’s very heart warming πŸ₯°

The medals are gorgeous and I particularly love the glittery one, with me being a princess and all πŸ˜‚

About the photo…. Before you post it check to make sure it’s in landscape position in your camera roll. If not, then you can adjust it there first before you post it. That happens sometimes to my photos too and yes it’s so annoying.

Aww thank you, the 15miles one was a real challenge I have to say, but I wouldn't have done it without my brilliant support team, infact we all helped each other as we all flagged at different times. The night run was fun because it was so different. The medal is just sooo pretty, I adore it! 😍. Re my pic, I thought it was in landscape but now you mention it, I can't be 100% sure, but I'll definitely check it next time. 🀭

That shows the power of a team effort, each person supporting the others πŸ₯°

Hope your recovery was ok.

OOh!! I looked at that night run, and really wanted to do it! You did really well, that time is one to be proud of especially if you've not been in the best of health.

Lovely sparkly medal, I'm envious xx
