I’m amazed

Always thought I’d topped out at HM for my max distance, as I’ve struggled to get a step further than that HM finish line (been stuck at that distance for the last 18 months - since I got to HM distance).

Not to be beaten, I’ve started using a FM training plan and am actually able to keep up with the lengthening long runs - so far at least. Not fast and definitely not pretty, but able to do it. That and I stupidly signed up for MM24 😂

In the last 2 weeks, I’ve managed to pull distance up from HM to 26.5km - only another 15km or so to reach the FM distance - that seems an awful long way at this point….

This mornings effort…

A couple of photos (needed a breather 😂 ) of the scenery and a fallen tree blocking the way on the Strava link

Wow! Well done, that is an impressive distance Reggit and it must feel great to see the benefits of the training plan. Good luck as you move towards your marathon goal - you’ve got this! 💪🙂

Good luck with the rest of the training. What plan are you using?

It’s a plan I bought -eek- through McMillan running. 24 weeks with Base, Hill, Speed and Endurance modules.

only problem is I’ve got it set up to finish on New Years Eve.

As I’ve three booked runs (longest is 7 miles) coming up over November and December, it’s going to mess up my scheduled long runs. I’ll probably do the sensible thing and move the plan end date to the race in a couple of weeks, although I’m very tempted to juggle it round now to get to at least 30km. Hmm decisions…

And then I’m going to have to keep a long run in excess of HM every couple of weeks until the distance creeps up again on the run up to the race.

Huge congratulations! You ran thru the mental block. You can now use that knowledge as you keep going to full marathon.

Its a great feeling, especially looking back and thinking "I can't run another step" and then later, cruising past that distance! I found mile 15 tough, then two weeks later, mile 17 was tough, and two weeks after that, I was at mile 20 and wondering what I was worried about.Well done, enjoy the miles 🏃‍♂️💪🥳

Well done! I remain astounded at what my legs achieved in training for a marathon! You're doing very well!

Good going 💪😀👍

Keep chipping away at the distance. It’s about hours on your feet rather than any attempt at speed. Keeping things slow will get you to the end of your planned run

26.5k would maybe see you able to nail a 32km next. A good round 20 miles to set you up for Marathon Day

Good luck with it 👍🙂
