First official 10k starts in 42 minutes (+/- Portuguese timing buffer). I can hear the π€sound checks from my house. People in fluorescent shirts walk past my window on their way over. π΅βπ«
It's expected to rain and possibly storm. I will ponder what it is people who like running in the rain like about running in the rain, and if necessary, pretend I am one of them.
I have time for a bit of a warm-up and yet another pit stop. Or two.
I am calm, I am not nervous, Iamnotnervous

itβs handy when youβre near the start line. Being able to use your own loo is a boon π
Good luck! Have fun out there π. I hope cake and medals are involved π°π
Running in the rain is ok. Itβs lovely on a warm day though. A refreshing warm shower. On a cold day though it can be pretty depressing. We get lots of practice here in the U.K. where I am βοΈπ«π¦π§
Let us know how you get on. Races are really fun ππ
I love this! How wonderful to be so close to the start! And how wonderful to have finished and found that rain is survivable (though the whole glasses thing is a real pain isn't it?). Congratulations πππ
Yes, yes and yes! The only conversation I had on the run was with a man who commiserated with me about glasses - and recommended a brimmed cap! Next time.
A brim helps a bit for sure. I have been known to run with glasses in hand - especially when they steam up - I can't see well without glasses but sometimes it's just clearer that way ππ
