After having a scroll through the HU site, I have discovered this forum, I am a member of several forums within the site and am pleased I have come across this group.

A little bit about myself , in 2020 I completed the C25K programme during lock down and continued to run up to 4 miles twice a week on my own. In 2022 I joined my local running club ( feeling like a fraud!) and gradually increasing my distance and the amount of times i ran a week.

I have run several 10k's and in June this year completed my first half marathon, it was hot, hard and slow, but I ran it and I was very proud of myself, fast forward to the beginning of October 2023 and I completed the Chester Metric Marathon . I am so proud of how far my running has come on and I am keen to run ore half marathons next year and will take part in the Chester Metric Marathon again next year.

My next race is a 10km in December

similar story here. Did C25K in the 2020 lockdown and progressed upto HM. Now trying to get upto FM distance.

Sounds like you’re in a similar part of the world to me, hope to bump into you at a run somewhere.

Hello and welcome to our lovely friendly community here 😊

Well done for the various milestones and, in recognition of your Metric Marathon, you are entitled to a special new badge!

We look forward to reading more of your posts telling us how you are getting on.

If you have a race we have a special “pompom” post that comes out every Friday where your virtual running friends here show their support and wave lots of virtual pom-poms for you.

Keep an eye out for our December Events post which should come out around mid-November where you can give us details of your race.

In the meantime, enjoy your running 😍

Welcome siggie! You’ve stumbled upon the best forum ever. It’s the friendliest, most supportive place and full of good advice.

You’ve done amazingly only having started running during lockdown. A metric marathon is something I’ve never done. 👏👏

Good luck going forward, and be sure to tell us all about your next race! 😀

Another warm welcome from me siggie. What a fabulous running journey you have had. i did the Chester MM on 2022 and loved it - I can see why you would want to do it again.

You can let us know how your running is going, either in your own posts or in comments in the weekly chat posts which come out on a Monday. We love to read race reports after events and, as Irishprincess has mentioned there will be lots of support available here if you let us know of events you are taking part in via our monthly events post. All these posts can be found in our pinned posts section

Great to have you in our forum 😊
