Almost finished the plan! Today was intervals, reverse intervals I call them!
1 min at mile pace, 3 mins at 5K pace, 5 mins at 10K pace, and a final 7 mins at recovery pace.
I ran on a bit, I've got very few KM left on my Conqueror challenge, and wanted to leave a round amount for my next run.
I wore my Cape of Good Hope relay race t shirt...remember this?
In reply to those of you who kindly and thoughtfully commented on my last post about whether or not I should do the 16K and 20K runs I had not completed on the plan, I have to say that I still haven't done them....had a phone consultation with my Endocrine nurse and I'll be having another Thyroid test, hopefully I'll be full of beans and firing on all cylinders again soon. I WILL do them, just not yet. No rush, Coach Bennett is a very nice chap, I know he'll wait for me!
Just doing what I can for the moment, still enjoying the plan.

Wonderful, I'm enjoying that plan and yes coach B is very encouraging, hope you get the results you need for your thyroid, I usually know when mines wrong and dose of tablets needs adjusting.
Thank you Sue, yes I spoke to them a few weeks ago, they agreed I need another test and said they would send the papers, but I haven't had them yet. I'll phone again, sometimes I can just go and get the test without the papers, but as it's a drive in centre I don't want to go and wait and be told they can't do it.
Yes, it's crap. I did well on my run today, but ran out of steam at about 3.5K...that's not right, I know I can run further than that. Still, I enjoy what I CAN do...
Thank you. Yes, I was thinking the same, can't believe I've nearly finished. Of course, there are a few runs not ticked off, but I'm determined to do them as and when I'm up to it. Not sure what I'll do when it's finished, I've so enjoyed have the structure and, of course, the guidance.
Amazing CG! Such determination, and you’ve smashed the plan so far. You’re right, Coach B will understand about the long runs and he won’t give two hoots when you do them. It’s the joy of achieving them in a time to suit you that makes the NRC plan so appealing. I’m back on it now, for the 4th time! The coaches are like old friends to me. 🥰
Thanks Cheeky! I'm a little disappointed that it didn't go quite to plan, but I'm sort of used to that, what with my various health stuff going on. I'm looking for the successes as CB says, and I've completed most of it, so that's a big success in my book. I've still got the fun of long runs to come haven't I?
Are you doing the NRC HM plan again? I thought I might do it again, I can't see it getting boring, there are so many different runs and the coaches ae indeed like old fiends. Who is your favourite? I've got a very soft spot for coach Bennett! And Andy P of course! I looked him up n Google, interesting guy!
You’ve done amazingly! It’s great how you can tailor the NRC plan to suit your needs, and the fact it’s based on perceived effort, not actual speeds, is another thing which appealed to me. 😀
Yes, I’m back on it for the fourth time! I started W1 on the first day of our stay in Brittany and did four runs, and this morning I did my third run of W2. I’ll do the “long” run tomorrow (4 miles) then that’ll be it until I start W3 when we’re home.
I adore Coach Bennett and I also have a soft spot for Coach Cory. And Daniel the Engineer and Andy P (love them all!) 😂
Well done 👍🏻. Coach B can wait, he’ll have to wait for me too. I’ve stalled at the first 10 miles. I’ve got a 12k and another 10 miles waiting but the heat, family and life have just taken over. I’m back to doing a couple of 5ks around the block each week until a suitably cool, long enough period of time presents itself 🤦🏻♀️. Those last few red ticks will feel so good though 😁
I’ve missed last week’s 15k because I ran out of run days what with travelling to the race etc. There’s a 16 k on this week’s plan so that’ll suffice. I’ve moved on 😀🏃♀️
I keep losing sound using the app recently but I’m sure it’s my decrepit phone. I was going to try my husband’s still-in-the-box Samsung but he’s given it to our DIL. Hey ho 🤷♀️🙂
I'm thinking I'll do (try) the 7 miler on my plan this week, see how that goes, then come back for the 10 milers..
My ancient Huawei will play the podcasts perfectly, my newer phone (Doogee) cuts out, keep meaning to phone Nike customer service, but it isn't such a bother to carry both phones.
