I’m very happy today as I ran new personal best in the 100 metres at the British Milers Club event in Brighton this evening. I felt strong and quite relaxed which really helped.
I was with a huge mix of ages and came 4th. My time is was 12.99 which places me 2nd in the U.K. at this early point in the season. That gives mean age graded % of 90.94 and an age graded time of 10.77.
Should I remain in the top 10 at the end of the season I’ll be very happy.

Wow Brian, you are doing incredibly well at this short distance running. 90.94% is totally amazing. You are looking great on it too. Do they have a veterans Olympics?
Thanks Dexy. There isn’t an Olympics but there are national, European and world masters events. It’s incredibly competitive and amazing to be a part of. There are some truly inspirational athletes especially in the older age categories.
2nd for now Cheeky, but the season is young and lots of runners have yet to set their opening times. I just hope I can make the top 10 at the end. That’s my aim. 🤞
Fantastic running Brian. Those stats are amazing. No mention of niggles this week either; it sounds as though everything has just fallen into place nicely….or rather you have put them there with really hard work. 👏👏👏👏🏆🥇
Thank you BC, My bones ache a bit today but otherwise the sticky tape is holding me together well. I’m having a few days break and then back to it with some plyos and hopefully another track session before the weekend’s races.
Wow, that’s fabulous Brian! Many congratulations and very well done to you. I know you’ve worked hard for this and you deserve the success. Those are amazing achievements 💪
Brian, I owe you an apology. I didn't include you in the pompom post last Friday. Stupidly I didn't look at the early May events spreadsheet. But, given your results, I don’t think it got in your way 🙂
Thank you, IP, no need to apologise I hadn’t noticed. 😅 I’ll definitely need a shout out for the weekend though as I’m racing on both days at the Sussex Champs. For the first time they’re running the Sussex Masters Champs within the event and there’s medals up for grabs!! Go me! Veloce 🏃♂️
I hope that's next weekend, 13th-14th May RunBrianRun ? Because if it's this one, 6th-7th, I need to add you to the pompoms nearly as fast as you can run!
Thank you so much everyone. Your comments really motivate me. It’s why I love this place. As for now, I’m on a plane heading to Cyprus for a short break. I did bring my skipping rope mind 😂 ☀️
Wow! I'm so pleased for you. That is just outstanding! It's really good to see all your desicated effort come to such wonderful fruition 👏🔥💪. Top 10 here you come.
