We think we might have a record number of racers this weekend so we’re going to be very busy waving those pompoms. There is a fantastic array of fabulous VRBs heading out to so many diverse and beautiful locations from different parts of the UK and indeed the world! Lots of firsts too so it’s a truly epic few days! We want lots of photos please runners 🙂
⭐️ First up on this iconic weekend and far away is RunWillie who is running her first ever race on Saturday at the Swan River HM in Perth, Western Australia. You’ve trained beautifully for this RW, you’ve done the miles and now it’s time to enjoy what you’ve achieved.
⭐️ Also on Saturday and back in the UK we have Frizzbomb67 who is not only running the Trussell Trust Race Against Hunger 5K but has also raised funds for this much needed charity. Her reward? Afternoon tea afterwards. Now that is something most of us can turn up for! Enjoy the run and the tea Frizzbomb 🫖🍰
⭐️ Moving into Sunday now and first up is Cowladyrunning and MissUnderstanding and SkiMonday ** who will all be taking in the scenic views at the Forest of Dean Spring Trails HM. It’ll be hard not to stop and have a look at all that gorgeous scenery but you can do plenty of that beforehand and afterwards 🙂
⭐️ The next event is very popular with no less than seven (now eight!) VRBs taking part!
linda9389 , Katnap and TailChaser are tackling the stunning Monsal Trail HM in the Peak District and Dexy5 , Oldfloss , UpTheStanley , @bluebirdrunner* and the youngest kitten of Katnap and TailChaser are all running the 10K. The course is iconic and we expect lots of photos guys! What a get-together 😍 No doubt lost of chatter, tea and cake afterwards!
⭐️ Moving South now we’re in Kew Gardens (oooh lovely) where Kirst13 will be running her first HM around the beautiful grounds. What a fantastic place for a HM. No doubt the tulips will be peeping and the daffs alight 💐 Enjoy every minute Kirst.
⭐️ From Kew all the way to Paris now where we will find Hidden toeing the start line for her very first Marathon! What a truly magical place for your first Marathon tracy. The atmosphere will be amazing 😍 All that hard work will be worth just getting to the start line 👍
⭐️ Back to the UK again and in London where we’ll see dory950 and O505k and AllezLeChef *** running the London Landmarks HM. Closed roads, so much history and famous landmarks on this run and not forgetting the famous crowd support will surely all carry you all along.
⭐️ And finally, last but by no means least, we have our own speedster RunBrianRun with two events, the 100m and 200m, at the Portsmouth AC Outdoor Open. This is the first outdoor session this year so here’s hoping for fair weather and the right kind of wind Brian 💨🤞
We think we have included everyone! But if we’ve missed anyone then let us know.
Good luck to all our wonderful runners this weekend. Bon Courage, have loads of fun and enjoy the rewards of all your training 🍀🍀🍀

Thank you so much Irishprincess . I need to get that faffage list out again and start packing, not only for the race but UpTheStanley and I will be staying a few days in the area and meeting up with non runny friends,. So looking forward to catching up with the Katz family, Linda and, for the first time, Oldfloss .
What a shame that RunBrianRun is racing in Portsmouth when we are away - we could have waved real pom-poms! Good luck Brian.
Good luck to all the other runners . I look forward to hearing all about your runs, long or short. Bling pics obligatory.
Oh my! I might have to hire some more pom poms in for this very busy weekend of fab runners and races! Good luck RunWillie Frizzbomb67 Cowladyrunning MissUnderstanding linda9389 Katnap TailChaser Dexy5 Oldfloss UpTheStanley Kirst13 Hidden dory950 O505k RunBrianRun please forgive me if I missed anyone 😊😊😊.
Thank you Maj.... this is a bit of a milestone in my running comeback, as Christmas Covid left its mark and then a weird cough which has literally hung on for the last ten days, it is not COVID!
I started to feel better yesterday afternoon and a short run this morning was done without a hitch... except me messing my watch up!
I am so looking forward to the day and meeting up with some of my truly inspirational friends.., including... and I am allowed now, to mention her... Bluebirdrunner , who is going to be there, to hold my hand through the 10K.... I fear she may leave me standing... Maybe IP we could add her onto the POM POM group so everyone cheers her too?
congratulations to you all. You have done all the hard work now enjoy your big day out everybody. So impressed to see first timers, those conquering new distances and those running on distant shores, what amazing people you all are. What a terrific HU turnout Irishprincess , well deserving of lots of Pom poms. I’ll will dust mine off immediately ready to wave on Saturday from SWFrance and Sunday from Marrakesh.
Wet and windy Bristolian pom poms being shaken for you all, hopefully hard enough to shake away the foul weather, leaving you with perfect running conditions this weekend.
I’m looking forward to reading all the epic race reports. I might need more than one cup of tea for that - and more than just a couple of biccies. 😋
Thanks so much for this! I’m a bit of a nervous wreck today but I’m sure once it starts, the atmosphere and the scenery will get me round. Lovely to see all the pom poms waving, and mine are in the air (in a taper-friendly way!!) for everyone else running this weekend ❤️
That’s what I’m counting on! I reminded myself earlier that I’m doing it for fun, not to try and win or even get a PB time. I’m just going to enjoy it. Thanks so much for the encouragement ❤️
Oh wow!! This really is an epic weekend!! The list hasn’t been this long in ages!
Thanks IP and everyone, I’m hoping for wonderful views and even more wonderful blue skies in the Peaks, but just to get through it in one piece and to have a good giggle afterwards will be enough.
All the best to everyone running this weekend, the HealthUnlocked server is going to be groaning with run reports Sunday night. I think us Monsal Trailers will have to draw straws or else you’ll be swamped!!
What a fantastic line up of HU stalwarts. Enjoy your races and meet ups and have fun. Good luck Good RunWillie Frizzbomb67 Cowladyrunning MissUnderstanding linda9389 Katnap TailChaser Dexy5 Oldfloss UpTheStanley Kirst13 Hidden dory950 O505k @RunBrianRun Bluebirdrunner 🎊🎊🎊🎊
Wow, what an epic turnout of HUers this weekend, but real FOMO about Monsal (where I met Oldfloss and Bluebirdrunner for the only time I think in 2019?) Good luck everyone and pom-poms waving wildly from SW France
Thank you all! And wow lots of races! Good luck everyone..... I am looking forward to the Forest of Dean despite two friends this week saying ooo I've done that it's tough 😱 I would be nervous about it but it got trumped by the dreaded phone call at school this week and the dreaded tb testing on farm, so my head is definitely in a different place! Consequently every night this week has been reported as horrendous sleep by my watch 🙄 so tomorrow I plan to a) get round in one piece b) enjoy the scenery even if raining like now.... and c) have fun! A colleague said yesterday do a couple of miles for her so I will and I'll be smiling the whole way too..... I promise. Oh yes and I'll wave pom poms for everyone else!
