I’m still in Ireland and so my tribute run for IT (as I called him) was on the shores of Lough Neagh. It was muddy and sticky but a gorgeous day for a run. I think he would have liked it.
During the run I thought about IT and how we’d joined C25K around the same time. Even from the beginning (before we had the Bridge or Marathon communities) he was seen as a very wise chap whose sensible and highly supportive replies resonated with so many runners. It’s not what some wanted to hear but one could never doubt his wisdom. And I never ever saw him reply to an over-enthusiastic (injured) newbie “I told you so” 🙂
IT, I miss you every day. Your presence alone was enough to make me think that all was well with our little running world here. But your wonderful legacy continues and for that I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I ran, I smiled. As you wish.
