This is what an elderly gentleman said to me as I ran past him this morning on what had to be one of my wettest runs ever! “Idiot”, I shouted back, and then felt really bad as I hope he didn’t think I was calling him that 🤣.! It was a very wet, very squelchy 8k, and I didn’t even mind being tsunamied by a mini van on the home stretch, as it made no difference whatsoever in the soaking stakes. Coffee never tasted so good after a run.

I think we all do! It’s fun stuff if it’s not cold. I like the heavy thud of soaking wet gear hitting the bathroom floor! It signals to me that a good job has been done 😀

Exactly! A good splattering thud of clothes definitely signals a good job well done. Then straight in the laundry. I just spent 10 mins with the hairdryer trying to dry my still damp trainers out 🤣.

I wear a folded Buff to keep my ears warm and to hold my earbud in place. When it’s raining I add a cap 🧢 After a while running in heavy rain the Buff gets saturated and falls down with a thump on my nose. It’s a bit of a shock but it makes me laugh 😅

That photo at the top right is like the old course of the new parkrun I run, it is now closed due to a electrical cable being layed by the electricity board, very very muddy, its just as well the parkrun has an alternative route.

Looks like a wet run. I don't mind if I'm dressed for it, in running geary. Yesterday we were out walking and got caught out in jeans and torrential rain it was not fun. Also you said they were new shoes out the box. That would upset me I like a few weeks before they get dirty. Glad you had a good run though.
