Another awesome September eventing weekend is calling us to our positions in support of a long list of amazing eventers. We've a lot of cheering to do so prepare yourselves well!!!
β On Saturday 11th we have:
π₯³ First up is the awesomely speedy RunBrianRun who will be sprinting at the Southern Athletics League meeting in Perivale - back willing !!! I do hope that twinge has disappeared for the weekend Brian π€
π₯³At the other end of the scale, our very own Decker is heading deep into the trees for the Haliburton 50k Trail Ultra - 'primal beauty ... rugged trails ... and nature at it's best' for 50 km sounds absolutely epic, you are a superstar Decker!
π₯³ Taking the distance up a notch further still Shake-and-run will be cycling the Bard's Ride 100k through the undulating Warwickshire countryside - may your seat be comfy to the end Shakes! π΅ββοΈ
π₯³ A fabulous bunch of HU runners - Tasha99 and GTFC , joined by RunSkippyRun - for the Great North Run Half Marathon. Be GREAT and have a GREAT time!
π₯³ A little further afield the lovely Frenc is venturing to France, armed with all the official paperwork, to run the 10k La Parisienne. Ooh la la, Bon Courage!!! Β πΒ
π₯³ Closer to home, in the lovely, lovely New Forest we have another great HU posse to support: Dexy5 UpTheStanley and Mudita11 are all running the New Forest Marathon 10k. Have a fantastic time among those stunning trees folks!
π₯³ And last, but most definitely not least, we have the amazing Lookslikejames who will be running his very first marathon, in the same New Forest Marathon event. You've got this James - channel those nerves and go smash it. It sounds like a fantastic choice for your first marathon and we look forward to hearing all about it!
π₯³ ... plus, a last minute edit: Runsome will be tackling the Rye Ancient Trails 30k. That looks like a challenging one Runsome, may your legs be strong!!!
π If youβve run one of these distances - 10 miles, Half Marathon, Metric Marathon (26.2K), Marathon, Ultra (50K and beyond) then you can claim your well earned badge by heading here:
Many thanks Linda. We received news this morning that the Palace has approved the continuation of this event following the sad news yesterday . We shall be wearing black as a mark of respect. UpTheStanley is nursing an achilles niggle so he hasnβt run all week but no doubt he will run as normal on the day and then slap ice on afterwards π Iβm looking forward to a fun day in drier conditions than weβve had of late.
Good luck with your events RunBrianRun , Decker , Tasha99 , GTFC , RunSkippyRun , Frenc ,
I hope everyoneβs races go ahead as planned ππ€
Good luck everyone! Have fun out there. May the weather be good, the bling very shiny and the cakes the best ever πͺπππββοΈπββοΈπ ππ°
Wow! Wow! And wow so many super runners and a cyclist too! And what a variety of events and countries. Have the best of times. πππ»ββοΈππ»ββοΈπ΄ββοΈπ πππ
Thank you linda9389 ! Have made it to Paris in one piece and am eating ice cream, which is delicious. Pom poms being waved for one and all RunBrianRun , Decker , Dexy5 , UpTheStanley , Mudita11 , Lookslikejames Shake-and-run , Tasha99 , GTFC , RunSkippyRun . π
Thanks Linda and everyone else. It was a brutal course but itβs done. Hope all the other racers have a wonderful and successful weekend! πββοΈ πββοΈ ππ»
Thank you Linda. π My back held up nicely for both races and although I didnβt reach my target times I was very happy with the results and time. 13.11 for the 100 placing 3rd and 27.27 for the 200 placing 2nd.
Thatβs it for this season now. Iβll be training really really really hard this winter and aiming to break that 90% age grading next year ππͺ where my goal is to run for Team GB in the European Masters Championships in Italy in September! Onwards!
