September looks as if it’s going to be a bumper month for events and so we’re kicking off the first weekend with a flurry of epic runners. All the events take place on Sunday.
🥳 First up is David_G whose London Marathon training is going swimmingly and to prove the point he’s running the jaunty Littlehampton 10K. Enjoy the sea and the cafe at the end David!
🥳Another fabulous London Marathon trainee is TailChaser who will not be alone when she runs the Stratford Big 10K. Joining her is not just one other VRB, or even two, but three others!!!
Katnap Time_Lord and Shake-and-run
And we heard a rumour that youngest kitten will be there too 🐱Quite a posse! Have a magical time everyone 😎
🥳 From Stratford to Portsmouth now for our very own acclaimed sprinter, RunBrianRun who will run the 100m and 200m at Portsmouth Open Athletics Meeting. Good luck with the age grading target Brian! You can do it 🏃♂️
🥳 Much further afield now as we head to Auckland where we have our wonderful Me_time who will run the North Shore Quarter Marathon with her sister. I hear you’re running for the t-shirt so we need photos please 🙂
🥳 Last but definitely not least, we have our one and only amazing linda9389 who is not running but cycling a bum-numbing 100K in the Flat 100 South in Peterborough! This was delayed from July because of the heat which just goes to prove how awesome Linda is to have kept the training ticking over until now. Go Linda 🚴♂️
😎 If you’ve run one of these distances - 10 miles, Half Marathon, Metric Marathon (26.2K), Marathon, Ultra (50K and beyond) then you can claim your well earned badge by heading here:
Thanks IP - I'll settle for a numb bum on Sunday, that would do nicely! As yet there is no rider pack in the post and no updated route or manual on the website. Info is somewhat sparse, but the element of surprise will be high 😄Great to see lots of events again - good luck one and all, have funnn!!!
Add in the fact that my daughter completed on buying a house with her partner today, so the whole weekend is being rejigged!!! Its 4.15. No rider pack in post this morning. Still no updated route. Still no idea of number/frequency of aid points so no idea how much I need to carry with me . Still no emailed rider manual so no idea re. parking or logistics of new start venue (or indeed where it finishes). I could go on .... at least the airbnb for tomorrow night is communicating with me 🙈
It's nearly 10pm on the promised day but still no email! A new route has appeaŕed on the website - 7km longer and three times the elevation (which is tiny so sounds more dramatic than it really is). I have resorted to alcohol to soothe my nerves. Hic!!!
Thank you IP, loving the pom poms. I’ve just been invited to join a friend on her narrow boat on Monday (to help with the locks). I hope I am not as tired as I was after last weeks 10k or there might be a chance I shall fall in!!!!
Have I got enough pom poms??? Well... I think so....ready to wave them aloft for ALL the wonderful bunch running this weekend...Run Well...Run safe...RUN HAPPY! GOOD LUCK EVERYONE !!!
Sorry, just been watching the London big half on TV and realised that I missed the pom-poms post. Too late to cheer you all on but looking forward to your run reports!
