Well, that was hard! Even Strava, bless it, kindly told me it was hard! Thank you 🤣. Did just over 11k this morning, and I was dripping like a drippy thing from planet drip. Nice. Anyway, having ascertained it wasn’t going to be the most enjoyable run ever, I tried to turn it into a bit of an adventure instead. I took a few different turns which made a very nice change, although it’s quite hard knowing where to put your feet along a rutted track where a million mountain bikes and horses have gone before, but I managed somehow.
I got my 2nd best time on a steep scrabbly uphill track, which always makes me laugh when it’s the 2nd time doing it! It still makes you feel good about yourself though. I saw a young lad I know coming the other way at exactly the same point as last Sunday which was quite funny too.
Other than that not much to report really, just glad it’s done. I’m hoping the mugginess will have disappeared by my next run. Have a great day all!

Well done on your run! I completely agree about the humidity - it’s not making for the prettiest of runs at the moment is it?! I am already craving the cool, blowy days of autumn - I always run better as the temperatures drop! 🙂
Thank you Sandraj39 ! I am totally with you on that one. I find myself getting up earlier and earlier to beat the heat, but if it’s muggy, well, it’s muggy! Yes, bring on the Autumn 🍂, can’t wait. But then I feel guilty for wishing the days away 😁.
You know where you are when it’s much colder. I love my cold weather gear 🥰😀. Mind you running with the warmth of the sun on my face is lovely 😎. It’s been great for my psoriasis too 👍
It really was drippy out this morning wasn’t it? my kit felt like it had come out of the washing machine when i took it off That was a great run you had
Too muggy! I did 12K this morning. Mr Garmin tells me I lost 500ml in sweat. I think that was a conservative guess!Still chuckling about your 2nd fastest time. 🤣
Very drippy weather indeed. The feeling that it’s raining on one when you know it’s drippy sweat does make me smile though 😀. I was doing a short spell of hill intervals yesters and was glad of my big cotton hankie to wipe my face 🙂.
Oooh yes a big hankie would have been useful today! I could have had it knotted on my head to save finding a pocket to put it in. Not sure about the look though 😁.
I wet it en route if I can find clean water, and tie it round my neck. I often take two big hankies One for nose blowing and one for mopping and wound dressing ☺️
Hello Cmoi ! Today it feels a bit fresher - almost nice running weather 😁. But of course today is a rest day. I imagine it’s very warm with you though. 😊😊😊
It was 26° when I got in from my run yesterday, admittedly around 10.45hrs, up to 36° in the afternoon. Humidity only 40% though, and we desperately need rain. Unfortunately it's forecast to turn up in the form of storms on Friday evening, when my Renaissance group's due to perform outside!
Scorchio as they used to say on the Fast Show 😁. A bit of rain would be so welcome at the moment, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you that your Renaissance group bash manages to avoid it 🤞🤞🤞. Well done on that run 😊.
Well done Frenc! I was wondering today how it can be so humid when we have had so little water? The ground is like a dust bath but I was soaking by the time I got home!!!
Thanks linda9389 ! I agree, it’s like a dust bath. Do you think lots of dust gets into our shoes? I just have to look at a really dry path and my feet feel really horrible, as though all the moisture’s been sucked out, when in reality they are a pair of stinky sweaty things! 😊. Ew that’s a horrible thought, apologies 🤣.
I know what you mean, I still can’t work out how to find people’a posts easily! Thank you though, yes, it was a very drippy run 🤣. Mind you, and it’s unheard of at the moment, I had a run this morning and my arms were actually quite cold to start out with! Ohhhh it was so nice 😊. All the best Ian!
