Happy New Year to everyone. What an interesting year. I'm just a few days away from being able to complete a full year of daily workouts. I looked back recently, when I started the only rule was a minimum of 10 mins. My earliest was 3.30 in the morning. Now my workout has had to be amended for my neck/shoulder issue but is usually 40 mins and incorporates stretches and yoga as well as basic cardio.
In Sep I decided that I had to stop making excuses; yes I was still managing 30 miles a week but the time pressure to fit in the longer runs was making it hard to also be social and to rest. I decided to get up 30 mins earlier and run before work, which means more short runs and takes the pressure off to do the long runs. I do miss some of my adventures and I'm surprised that I only did a couple of 20 milers as well as my 2 x 50ks. There's plenty of 16/18 miles etc but I do want more adventure runs this year.
A huge thank you to linda9389 for the Bingo challenge. I really didn't think that I'd have time or be able to complete it, yet with my new mindset of "stop saying no and try to say yes" I did it. I really enjoyed most of it. The festive art was difficult and my star of David attempts are still a little messy. I'm rubbish at speed recording, strava has recorded ridiculous times that I'll never beat but I pushed hard on my morning route today and was 2 secs off my fastest time which I'm happy with.
The Christmas lights and tunes runs were way more fun than I'd anticipated.
I had adjusted my yearly goal midway through the year and still exceeded that.
All in its a successful year. Looking forward to more of the same.
