Runs are Like a Box of Chocolates 🍫

And today was an orange cream possibly the yuckiest chocolate ever created 🤢🤣. A blooming hard 5k and a bit. Talk about work! I think I set myself up by saying oh just going to do a quick 5k as though it takes no effort when in actual fact it was all I could do to finish. Nothing felt good, feet like bricks, legs like lead, not to mention the silly uni students hogging the pavement grrr. Ohm ….

Anyway, back home, stretched, water etc, now for a shower. And of course I’m pleased I did it 😃. Always learning, eh!

I hope next time is one of those Quality Street green triangles, best chocs ever. Have a smashing day all! 😊😊😊

My last run (5K as well) was a hard one as well. Nothing worked, I wasn't in the mood to run, my legs felt like stone, etc. Should go for a run today after work, hoping for a Mint chocolate!

I actually bought a tin of Quality Street the other day. Shop obviously got them in for Christmas as they're not commonly sold round here. I don't know whether they've altered the recipes, or whether it's the change in my tastes over the years, but they were mostly bleuch. Next time I want sickly chocolate I'll buy Smarties instead, despite my misgivings over the blue ones!

Every Christmas we got a tin of quality street in my family when I was a kid. My favourite was the green triangle which was thankfully no one else’s favourite. I’m going to buy a tin for Christmas for my boys to see what they like.

Oh the green triangles were always the prize my cousins and I fought over in the QS tins. My all time fave are the orange Club bars though. Harder to find imports of it in Canada now. We have one left in the fridge for emergency use only!

I think there was many an argument over the green triangles! My mum always had a stash of Clubs hiding in a cupboard, funnily enough I really liked the orange ones too. They’d probably make a good mid run snack - or maybe they’d get a bit melty 😃. I hope your club bar supply improves in the near future 🍫.

Oooh yes those purple ones are my second favourite - a run like one of those would be brill. They have lots of goo, choc and a hazelnut or some such. Thank you, those type of runs keep us on our toes (or wailing on our knees if feeling extra melodramatic 🤣🤣🤣).

Then it’s good that run is out the way, after a tough one usually comes a super one, green triangle and all, I’ve recently made brownies for the first time and they are my favorite thing ever at the moment so i’m hoping for a brownie run next time
