What a cosmopolitan list we have today. Pom Poms will be waving to you all. It’s also Parkrun’s 17th birthday this Saturday so you can eat cake without feeling guilty.
Thank you! I couldn't make it up to the misty isle itself, so it'll be a virtual "Isle of Skye in Edinburgh" run for my tenth half marathon of the year; but I'll aim to plot a route that is just as special; those hills though. Good luck to all those running this weekend... have fun. 😄
Many thanks roseabi and VRBs. Please consider pompoms waved for all this weekend's runners, though I probably won't have any energy left come Sunday!
Collected my race number and my Covid passport bracelet this afternoon. Walked up the finishing straight - see photo. Yes, those are cobbles. Yes, it is a proper uphill. Yes, that is a whacking great cathedral at the top. Fortunately we don't have to make it up the cathedral steps, only to the foot of them.
Grand Trail de St Jacques finishing straight, Le Puy en Velay, the day before the event.
That's the end? How mean!! Making you run UP that at the end of a Marathon!! I hope you have an amazing time today Cmoi, pom pom waving will be happening all day for you 😊🏅💥🍀
I've kept this very quiet as I am super nervous, but I too will be attempting the virtual London Marathon on Sunday 😬😱🤢🤮🥴 So if anyone has any pom-pom waving stamina left, I'd really appreciate the support 🙏 Thank you 😘
Oh no, we aren't heading for a pom pom shortage too are we?! 😂
Thank you so much, it will be my first (and possibly last!!) attempt at the distance and for various reasons, will now be running it entirely on my own which has made the nerves ramp up a gear. So all support very, very welcome 😊🙏🥴
Don't worry no pompom shortage-so long as everyone continues with their usual pattern of usage! Will be waving wildly for you tomorrow and looking forward to reading your post-GOOD LUCK!!!!!!
I'm planning to start running at 5:30am. No jelly babies as I don't find they do much for me, but I've got gels, baby food and cliff bloks, alond with some Electrolyte drink and water in my hydration pack. 🤞😱😬
What about you? And are your running friends doing a relay with you? 😊
I am not starting until 8. I have got Chia Charge bars, jelly babies, pretzels, malt loaf, stroop waffles and I am carrying electrolyte drink and my hydration pack too. Yes, I have a relay gang for the run and even have a paramedic on standby (my brother is staying over and he works for West Midlands Ambulance Service) just in case!
Pom poms please! I am running the Virtual London Marathon around the sunny roads and tracks of Harpenden. It is my first marathon and I am incredibly nervous but I have a lovely group of friends running sections with me and lots of cake and support at race HQ.
Pompoms at the ready! It's going to be so much more exciting watching the marathon when I know people (running club colleagues and VRBs) who are out there. Though I need to step away from the TV to fit in a 15k run myself at some point tomorrow in training for my first proper runs - Great South Run is getting very close now!
Thanks for all the Pom Pom cheering! Feeling immensely proud as I only went and did it!! Put marathon by my name because I completed my first ever one today! Whoop whoop! (And don’t my legs know it!) Amazing support too- it felt so great!
Hope everyone else enjoyed their experience as much as me!! 🎉🎉🎉🎊🎊🙌🙌🙌🤗🤗🤗
