Hurrah for a day off work - it’s not easy fitting everything in to be honest, but I was determined to do 10 miles today. It was only when I got home I realised it’s been nearly 4 weeks since I ran this distance which is probably why I felt stiff as a board afterwards!
Set off super slow, and the first half felt pretty good, although the second half was a bit of a struggle. Coach Bennett had some great tips, as ever, especially not to run too fast at the beginning.
It’s definitely cooler, which is SO nice! Saw some lovely dogs, a few other runners, and quite a lot of people doing circuit classes outside. The water meadows was lovely, although there’s a stretch that I always call Itchy Passage 🤣 because I always start sneezing and getting itchy!
Got my online French tutor in a bit with a lovely French lady called Marjorie. I haven’t seen her in a few weeks due to this and that so I’d better go and prepare.
Have a smashing day everyone! 😊😊😊

What sort of nasty grammar Frenc ? (I'm a Brit living in France who's mostly taught English to French people, but has also done a bit of teaching French over here too.) And well done on getting in ten miles beforehand!
Lol thank you. Y and en and I had terrible trouble using both of them in the same sentence and not getting them in the wrong place 🤣. My teacher has the patience of a saint, but we do have a laugh! Lucky you living in France 🇫🇷.
Thank you so much. It was enjoyable although I had to really push towards the end! Just had a lovely doze on the couch but I feel as though I earned it 😊.
You’re not wrong misswobble! My theory is that by going really slowly means you’re on your legs for longer, which has to be good for stamina? At least I hope so! Mind you, I’m feeling VERY lazy right this minute 😁.
Slow running builds legs. Some days are slow days anyway, in our weekly running regimen, or should be. It’s my fave day. When you have time to take it all in.
I’ve got a long marathon training run coming up. It’s overdue actually, because of a top-up race, but I need to tick it off. I run a tricky trail, which for a long run is a killer. It’s the ups and downs that get my hips 😫. I want to see if I’m any stronger there since last time it did me in 😁.
I am lazing at the minute as well, with a strong coffee, prior to heading out on a jog. Racing tomorrow. Kind of, but not really, as I can’t afford to let rip on the downhill as I’ve got my marathon still to come. Can’t afford to get shin splint again 😫
I know what you mean about the hips, they can definitely feel it, especially on those ups and downs. I hope your jog went well, and that your coffee powered you through! 😊😊
Well done on another 10 miles 😁👍And the French lesson afterwards ... I started to learn Mandarin but not sure how far I will get with it (A bit like my running) 🤣
My husband was doing online French lessons during lockdown. His tutor was in Equador, a French lady who travelled the world a lot. He found the grammar challenging too. He hasn’t done it for a while and needs to get back to it. 🇫🇷
Thank you cheeky! I really needed it, have to say. Online tutoring is brill - how cool to have a native French lady teaching from Ecuador in the comfort of your own home! 😊😊😊
That sounds like a great run Frenc, well done. And how did the French go? I'm so envious of people who can speak multiple languages, I struggle with the one 😩🤯
Yay! you and me both! I have to keep getting up off the sofa to keep my legs moving 😀 Part way through I though, oh, I could've enlisted Coach Bennett's help ... nah, those fartleks ... no thank you!!!! 🤣
Ah well done you 😁. My hips are feeling it today I must admit - I ought to have really built up to 10 miles again. I’ve never done Fartleks, I keep thinking maybe next time and then it just doesn’t happen! 😊😊
Congratulations on completing another 10 miles run, well done, 10 miles is about my limit for running, I have ran 5 of them and doubt if I can run further, good luck for your French lessons.
Thank you very much. I think 10 miles is my favourite long distance, much further, and I do struggle. I also have to be in the right mind frame too. The French was good fun! 😊
