But... Where we were staying was up in the hills, and I only managed two 5Ks last week, we had a gym and pool so I managed to keep some level of fitness, but today I'm home and was hoping to fit a longer distance in.. I was late setting out and it was already too hot π
But I just couldn't get into it, was very slow and felt after only 5K I'd had enough π₯Ί
I'm trying not too be too downhearted, give myself this week to get back to my own routine and hopefully can get back to longer runs.. soon π
Looking forward to catching up with you all..and celebrate your achievements while I've been awayπββοΈπββοΈπ

I am glad that you enjoyed your holiday, a few runs to keep the legs in motion and keep you fit, well done, never be downhearted.
This morning I ran my 5th 10 miles run, like the other 4 my time was just over two hours, this morning I ran it in a time of 2:04:30, my 5K split time was 38.17, which I sent to my home parkrun website as my 65th (not) parkrun, nice run before the heat of later in the day, I began my run at 06.45.
Thanks, I was just wondering if I could go further, perhaps HM but my legs began to feel sore, anyway, the final 1 Kilometre was the slowest, the last thing I need is to get on the IC, so I was happy to end the run at 10 miles.
Good for you even fitting in a couple of 5ks whilst on holiday. Better than I managed when I was away a couple of months ago!
Also, donβt beat yourself up over todayβs run. Itβs so warm today (I ran this morning too, and scorched even at 7:30am). Cut yourself some slack and try a longer run next time if you feel like it. Your legs will know what to do. π
A good 5k is nothing to be sneezed at, many many people only dream of that You will soon get back into your longer runs once youβve recovered from being away and probably the journey home took it out of you a bit too
Definitely no call to be downhearted! Running in heat is really tough. Sometimes a run is bad for no reason. It usually means the next one will be good! Be nice to yourself, and enjoy the run however it turns out. A run is a run is a run!!!
