So today was the day for my summer half marathon, the rain came down ferociously this morning at 8am whilst having my breakfast - it is August isnβt it as I checked in with myself, hydration jacket stocked up with water, tailwind, jelly babies and a homemade flapjack. I decided to do todayβs yoga session with Adrienne and what a good session to get the leg muscles warmed up. 10 am arrived and I set off in light rain for the 1st K - after that the heavens opened for the next 7k a brief respite for the next 3k and then they opened again for the next 6k with gusts of wind as I left the canal to embark on the final 4K thankfully along a tree lined disused railway line (salt line) great surface to run on which was also lovely for my very wet feet. As I approached my final k through woodland and farm land the sun came out briefly and I had achieved my goal of a summer half marathon.
On my warm down walk through a local nursery the woolly pigs were munching away and I spied the newly planted vineyard! Less than 3minute walk from home !
As I arrived home my husband clapped and cheered me in and congratulated me on my fastest Half marathon!!!
I donβt know what was wetter when I walked into the shower or when I got out of it!
What a summers day to do a half marathon - thank goodness it wasnβt boiling hot π₯΅

Oh well done! It sounds as though you every condition to contend with today, you must be absolutely over the moon. And woolly pigs π· to boot, how wonderful. I hope youβve finally dried out ππββοΈπ.
