Seems I’ve Recovered

Original plan was 29k Friday, 12k Saturday & Sunday off. However (I seem to be getting a lot of “howevers” at the moment) I have a hospital test on Thursday so Monday morning, I’m booked in for a Covid test and I have to self-isolate until my test. That messes up my training for the week so I decided to run on Sunday instead. Balanced up my runs so I ended doing 3 HMs in 3 days (this ultra training has a lot to answer for).

The Saturday run was a bit of a struggle, probably because I had a few beers after Friday’s run. I’d agreed to try out a new pub with Mrs Monday on Saturday afternoon but I managed to keep it down to three half pints so Sunday’s run was easier. It’s surprising how a few beers can affect running the following day.

My route includes a half circuit of Pomphrey Hill Parkrun. As I approached my turnoff from the cycle path, it dawned on me that it was just after 9 am so there was a good chance that there would be people running the course. It’s interesting to find yourself running a Parkrun course with other people when you weren’t expecting to.

Happy running folks!

Thanks Smile, I've been building up for some time now. If you're looking for a new challenge, I reckon it will have to be time or distance based i.e. either work on your pace or work towards a longer distance, a Metric Marathon maybe?
