Okay it's not a massive tummy bug, I'm not feeling sick but I do have an upset stomach which definitely means no running today. (I have my first group training run tomorrow evening though which I would like to do...). And this came after I had to re-schedule my runs this week because of work! I usually run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday but this week I was planning to run on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday. But now I can't run today and I can't afford to miss anymore training so I still need to fit in my three runs for this week! So I might run tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday. Hopefully this bug is just a 24 hour thing and I've got to keep myself hydrated! And to complicate the mix even further, I have a hospital appointment tomorrow morning (a review since I went into hospital before Christmas) and I'm not allowed to eat anything because they may give me scan! Why is my life so complicated at the moment???
Note to self - always try and get a run in on Monday so if anything happens during the week, you still have a run ticked off!

Oh what a shame Redcello, I hope youโre fully recovered very soon! And good luck with your hospital appointment tomorrow. Donโt run too soon - give yourself time to heal!
Thanks you! I know I need to rest and recover but that's so much easier said than done, especially when I've got the Bath Half coming up in about a month's time and already missed a lot of training!
Give yourself a break Redcello; get your review appointment out of the way and then start planning runs. I am in the middle of an out of the blue busy period myself and am just trying to fit in what I can when I can...sometimes we just have accept what we canโt change for a time rather than battle too hard.
Thanks for the encouragement and yes you are right what you say about accepting what we can't change...it is really hard to convince my brain that sometimes though...
Oh no Redcello, life needs to give you a break! Youโre so upbeat though and I have every confidence youโll come back strong and nail the Bath Half! 4.5 weeks away. Yikes! I canโt wait and I bet you canโt either!๐๐๐
Thanks! Yes, I'm very excited (but also nervous), can't believe it's going to be a month away on Saturday! Scary stuff! A runner that I know once said that the hardest part is getting to race day! I remember thinking a few days ago, I just want it it to be race day now!
Thanks you! Yes I am very glad that all of this happening now and not race day! I'll let you know how I get on with the hospital review, which I'm a bit nervous about to be honest...
Poor you! It's been one thing after another to challenge you. I love how you keep sticking with it, rescheduling, replanning ... you're amazing! Feel better very soon ๐
Yes I have been resting all day today and am feeling a lot better than I did this morning thank goodness! It's really difficult to know when you should alter training because I find that I am pushed on by that stress of fundraising, time (only a month to go now!) having missed quite a lot of training already but I am also equally aware that it's really important to give yourself a rest when you need it! But it's definitely a battle in head at the moment...
Ugh! I know how exhausting that battle is ๐ฅ. Follow your instincts but don't push beyond your comfortable because, worst case, you spectate this year and run next year (I had to do that with Oxford HM in October and once I'd deferred it I did relax and it no longer seemed the end of the world; don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you to give in just that you have options!)
Yes very exhausting! I will make sure I listen to my body and if I get there on the day and I'm not feeling great, I will pull out. (My Dad had quite a serious conversation with me about it the other day...). I have thought about all the options (which I am glad that I have) but me running it this year is very significant for me and am running it for personal reasons too so the idea of pulling out or deferring does exacerbate that battle! I'm just going to take it one day/training run at a time I think...
