HHM Training: Week 1 Day 3

Indoor session: Today’s training was much easier. 8 x 1 minute speed running intervals with a 1 minute rest between each. There was a 5 minute warm up session and the Nike Running Club coach threw in an extra 30 second speed run at the end. It was all well within my capabilities.

The weight I’m carrying at the moment is epic but I did feel slimmer today than yesterday. I should really weigh myself but I’m nervous to get on the scales because if it’s really bad news it might mess with my mindset and make me do a more radical diet than is healthy. I’ll weigh myself later in the training when I can see some flattening of my currently epic stomach.

Diet: I have switched back to very healthy eating. I went through a period of ordering takeaways through Just Eat. It was in the lead up to my birthday when I felt I needed to constantly treat myself. By Sunday I realised the damage I’d done and started this training. I had decided I wasn’t going to run outside anymore and was not going to attempt the HHM. I believe all of that mindset was addiction talking and I’m currently splitting the training into indoor and outdoor sessions which seems to give me extra impetus to eat healthy. I’m back on my chicken salad and fish salad diet. Plenty of fruit and yoghurt and low carbs. This seems to be doing the trick. I know it works as it’s been my normal lifestyle for years so it’s not really a diet.

The massage gun arrived yesterday and really helped. It enabled me to run on consecutive days. I’m really excited about this development as I’m usually very achy after running and my tight right hamstring is often sore. I’m going to instigate short yoga sessions into my training also. It’s only been 3 days and I’m already on an exercise high. Who needs drugs?

I’ve also switched to very healthy eating. I’d lost over 6 stones but I’ve recently put one back on so it’s got to go!

I’m glad your run was better today DL 😊
