Good morning to all you AWESOME runners out there!
I promise this is the last post - the final results of our spring HM and 10k event.
I have loved every minute of this event which was opened in style with two stunning runs of 21 miles from paul1960 and 20 miles from GoGo_JoJo .
Your enthusiasm has been amazing - and your running hasn't been half bad either!!!
But, without further ado, let's announce our winners:
β LottieMW came in just one and a half minutes after our clock time of 1:33:54, bagging first place in the 10K !!!
β Over62 was even closer to the clock time of 2:44:04, coming in just a minute later to grab first place in the Half Marathon !!!
Woohoo!!! Congratulations to you both!!!
β Further special mentions to our very own Decker who recorded the fastest HM time in a scorching 1:53:18 and runningdad who recorded the fastest 10k time in a flying 49:19!!!
β Plus, a big shout out to the crazy few who recorded times for the double (thus leading me into temptation tooπ€·ββοΈ) Blackberrypie , Cmoi , Curlygurly2 , Fran6500 , Over62 and SkiMonday
β Above all, to everyone who took part, a huge well done and massive thanks from us. Maybe see you to do it all again in the autumn!!!
You can find all the results here docs.google.com/spreadsheet... (apologies if I've made any mistakes, or left anyone off -please do let me know if you spot anything and I will get it amended).
I know not everyone managed to get RunGo to work, but both the 10K and HM virtual routes are still available on there if anyone does still want to have a listen!
Happy running everyone !!!

Thanks Linda9389 and Roseabi and everyone else who helped this great event come together!ππ
It was great to feel part of something bigger, and the advice and encouragement on the RunGo app were a definite bonus!π
Well done to everyone who took part, together we smashed it! πββοΈπββοΈ Also spare a thought for those running friends who werenβt able to take part this time through injury or whateverπ€
Ah thank you so much! It was great fun and it really made a difference knowing so many other folk were doing it too. Bring on the next one! Happy Easter π£ linda9389! πππ
Well done, everyone. Loved being part of this event. Yes, letβs please do it again in the autumn. And thanks again to the amazing linda9389 and roseabi for making it all happen.
Brilliant event! I loved running to the commentary and playlists! It helped move my final magic-plan-runs come together with a 9k the first weekend and a 10k the last! (and I didnβt even officially sign up!) So huge thanks to everyone involved and yes, Can we do it again in autumn? Iβm in!
It was a fabulous event that kept me running and focused through the winter months. It's great to be part of such a motivated and winning team. Well done everyone ππππ
This was a brilliant event, thank you again, our NZ 13 hour time difference makes it difficult to join in with UK events at any time and even though I couldnβt get Rungo to work (I friggin will though) it was fun to be a part of this. Congrats to everyone. So proud to be part of this π₯°
Well done to the winners! Big thank yous to the dream team organising it! It gave me that push to complete my first HM.
I think itβs very selfish making us wait until autumn for the next one. Surely you can put together new original motivational speeches and a 5hr soundtrack on a fortnightly basis π
Fantastic linda9389 ..loved every minute of it!! Looking forward to the next one...well done everybody!!! π₯³π₯³π₯³ what a gang!! ππ»ππ»ππ»
Thank you! This was a brilliant event, so much support from everyone and above all it was great fun! The music and rungo were both excellent. Loved being a part of it.
Oh wow, Team HU are simply the best! Well done everyone. Letβs do it again, it was a blast, and thanks so much to linda9389 and roseabi for being fabulous! ππ»πβ€οΈ
Thanks again linda9389 and roseabi for creating such special events, and to everyone - I've absolutely loved being part of our amazing international Team HU! ππββοΈ
linda9389 , I can now also report that having tried the 10K commentary this afternoon, RunGo auto-reads it in English, but in an unintentionally hilarious Clouseau-style female voice. Except for the numbers, which remained in French, resulting in sentences like "Bet 'ee couldn't rurrrn dix kilomètres!" I'm strongly tempted to listen to it again at my computer and type up the best bits!
Thank you Linda and Roseabi for organizing this event and a big congratulations to everyone that took part and pushed themselves a little further along. It was good fun knowing we were all participating in this event together!
That is kind of you Linda. The one thing i regret is not hearing the commentary. Can I still get it somewhere? Too much tech normally throws me off but I would still love to hear it
or go into the app on your phone and search HU spring .... all three should appear. Be sure to download if you are on android and be sure to press the Virtual Outdoor option NOT the Run this option!
Thank you so much for organising ! It really got me back to 10k after a period of time. Hurrah ! And I did another today - but decided to Jeff it this time (60:30) and knocked 4 mins off my non-stop running time - not only that, I actually felt great and not too tired at all !! Hurrah !!
Thanks for organising us all linda9389 and roseabi . It was great to run virtually with everyone. Well done to everyone who took part. πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈππββοΈππ
Fantastic Event so lovely to be a part of it. Many many thanks linda9389 and roseabi fir your incredible planning and organization πππππ
Great success ladies - loved being part of this! π I plan to try the Rungo commentary again tomorrow on my 10k run - hereβs hoping I have more success this time! π€£
Thank you for joining in! Fingers crossed for tomorrow! Make to download if android. Be sure to press virtual run. Check location services are on and that you don't have any power saving options that might stop it after a few minutes. Let us know how it goes, but have a lovely run!
We usually have a spring group and an autumn group. I'm sure we will have a group for autumn 2021 - and being optimistic we may finally have some live HM events as well. Fingers firmly crossed.
I think I am just about. Iβve made peace with the fact that I injure myself every time I run a longer distance, it just seems to be the way my body works for some reason π€
I think it will go away. The more you train the more resilient you get. Mind you train in the right way, eg incremental mileage increases and keep the speed down. Eat good, drink water, sleep much.
A brilliant event to bring everyone together, thank-you for organising it, and to everyone that took part.
I tried the 10km RunGo commentary at the weekend - that Edinburgh 10km seems a real challenge (knowing how steep it is up Arthur's seat). Maybe it will inspire me to find some hills and trails to run on - I've avoided anything remotely resembling a hill up to now. Thank-you
