It is finally here!!! Whether it's going to be Good Day Sunshine or more like an Octopus's Garden (or well, it might be a bit windy anyway...) - whatever the weather we are going to be celebrating our amazing runners in theeeeeeeee (drumroll)...
Runners will be taking off at any time from tomorrow, Saturday, March 27th up to and including Saturday, April 3rd - with an extra special spot of 9.30 on Sunday 28th for those of you who want to run virtually together across the universe!!
β° Remember the clocks go forward one hour on Sunday morning for most of us!!!
Aaaaand, it's not too late to join in the fun! - follow this link for details healthunlocked.com/marathon... and comment there or below!
So we're all gonna have to keep our pompoms up all week - good for toning up those arms anyway π
First off though, I want to give a special SHOUT out toGoGo_JoJo and paul1960 who ran extra-special 20 and 21 milers respectively earlier in the month, and Fran6500 who already ran her Half Marathon on Tuesday! Well done you superstars!!!!
So now, without further ado, twist and shout here are our HUHM & 10K runners:
BRILLIANT!!!! Don't forget the hour change, lovely runners, jumps forward an hour on Sunday morning! Good luck to everyone. ππββοΈπ¨βοΈ
Hurrah ! did a cheeky 4k yesterday and 9k on Monday - so should be all set for 10k on Sunday !! (weather forecast currently dry.......). Looking forward to running round Holyrood Park !! π
I was planning to race my 10k on Monday (your Sunday ) but hubby wanted to run 5k today which probably should be my fast run for the next week. Iβve done over 70 miles this month so Iβll be running 10k on Monday but no racing. Cheering you all on as always β€οΈπββοΈ
Ha ha - I did my HM through Grantchester Meadows, that was the hardest bit, they need to do some work on the roads and paths, it was like a lunar landscape!
Well the weather is still showing rain on Sunday morning but I've set my alarm so I can get the dog walked and be ready for the off at 9:30 πππGood luck every one πππ€
To quote the Celtic blessing: May the road rise to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face (but not the bit about rain on the fields of course!)
Thank you x It reminds me of the Dylan song, "Forever Young". Same kind of sentiment beautifully expressed. I listen to it each time I run. Being an old bird it really chimes.
Thanks roseabi , and everyone who has organised this. Although he hasnβt signed up yet, I believe UpTheStanley will be joining in the fun and games of a 10k.
Pom Poms waving as we go, although youβll all be finished by the time we get out.
You'll have to amend with your own bib number and name ('cept you Dexy!) because I don't have that much time πIf you see anyone running in a straightjacket and HU bib tomorrow ... that'll be me!
If you click on the link it should open in google docs you can then change the number and name and save it as something else on your computer if you want to. When I firstbput the link up it wasn't possible to edit. I changed that pretty quuck, but if you tried a while ago it may be worth trying the link again.
All done!π Managed to get out and back before the horror rain arrives. Good luck everyone - I hope the weather gods are kind to you ππ»π€. (Should I post my time here, or is it better to wait until the results page is up later?). Thanks for organising this - it was tough, but I really enjoyed it!
Thank you for all the pom pom waving everyone! Iβll also be waving some for you all while Iβm running along. Absolutely canβt wait. Iβll be heading out as soon as itβs light enough on Sunday morning, and embracing whatever weather is thrown at me. It canβt be worse than 2 weekends ago ....... and if it is, wooohooo, Iβm running anyway! πββοΈπͺπ
I'm so excited and nervous π I am going to try very very hard to get work finished so I can run at 9.30 but my head hurts trying to work out time to start work AND clock change π Good luck to everyone ππππ
If you read the earlier posts all the info is there healthunlocked.com/marathon... . We will put up a results post on Sunday and you just pop your time in there (no evidence required). When the even closes next weekend, we will randomly generate a winning time for the 10k and another for the Half Marathon- the closest to that time wins the race! - you can be at the back of the pack and win this one!
Wooohooo! Nearly time! Whenever, wherever, however far, however fast or slow, however wet or windy - just have fun! Good luck everyone! We'll all be cheering loudly for each other. See you at the finish line π₯πββοΈπββοΈ
Best of luck everyone! May we all run far and have fun! I will likely be running earlier on Sunday but as I am in a completely different timezone than most if you and weβve already had our time change here, I guess it doesnβt really matter π
Well my kits ready, virtual bid and all! Downloaded RunGo app and prepared our virtual route π Edinburgh already one of my favourite cities so that's nice ππ»playlist added to Spotify so think I'm set ready for the off in the morning! πͺπ» I'm guessing it's not going to be as nice as it is right now weather wise which is sad but I'd still rather hang on and run with the main group.
Good luck everyone I hope your runs a smooth and easy π€π»ππ»
Iβm with you on wanting to run with everyone else Jericho. Looking out the window this morning, I could easily pop out and run in the sunshine with only a light breeze. I think tomorrow will be very different, but itβll add to the experience! Good luck, and see you at the finish line. πππͺ
I'm planning on running the 10k tomorrow (Sunday) and the HM on Friday but I seem to have dropped off the HM list. Bib number 336036, or something like that. If it helps with the system, please feel free to change my bib number so that I fit in (being a virtual number, I can handle more digits!)
Ha, no - just tagging all the people in the list so they will get an alert about this post. We can only tag up to 15 people in a single post or comment.
Hmmm, am I ready? Building back up after a βminimalisticβ Corona running year. Have done a couple of 7ks, but I donβt know if Iβm ready for 10k without a bit more sensible build up. Will see
Yay! I did my 10k - only my 2nd ever so I was a bit nervous. But I just kept thinking about everyone else and it kept me going! Reading all the lovely posts here really helped to get me out the door, so thank you for everyoneβs hard work. This was a brilliant idea π‘. I hope everyone really enjoys their run! πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Will be slightly terrified, since this is my 1st 10k since early December I think. I'm really looking forward to it though (and the epic playlist!). Good luck everyone π€π».
Good luck! Go steady and run well. You got this π π₯³π₯³
Enjoy everyone, waving my Pom Pom for you/us all, I could so easily duck out of this one but our dedicated organisers have put in so much work how can I not, I will be setting off at 9.30am in the morning. Mr J is already laughing and making jokes βmaybe set off earlyβ, mentioning torches and looking for me in the dark ... it is a long time since Iβve managed 10k, been struggling to make 5k! so Iβm betting on myself for the longest time ever recorded in a HU virtual 10k π€£ I might even take a snack and a flask or even better have Mr J set me up a half way house. π
Oops, just found this in my spam folder! Good luck everyone and thank you for all the amazing work that is making this possible. It will be my first run listening to music and I'm quite excited! The forecast here is still heavy rain and strong winds. Hey ho! You've gotta be tough to be a northerner!!! πππ
Ohhhh thanks for the mention... I totally forgot about it till I saw GoGo_JoJo on strava... Well done!! Fab run and pace. Well done to paul1960 and Fran6500 too πππ Great running.
I'll try and do mine tomorrow or Monday..but won't make the 9.30 start.. Collecting take away soon! π
Well reading everyones posts about tomorrow, has persuaded me to start at 9.30 too, usualy go out a bit later at weekend, but will be out with everyone else, first virtual run, dont really understand all the things to download, so will just run as normal, with my own music, good luck everyone!
Hi. Well done everyone who has already ran ππ been very windy today in my neck of the woods. Thanks to the team for organising all this πβ€οΈ the playlist was great. I couldnt get the rungo app to work tho.... May try again next time I do 10k if I can.. As want to hear it. Cheers guys.
Oh my time was 1.12.36,not sure where I need to post this. And sadly I didn't make it for the early start, a tad hungova! π So did mine at π 5pm
