Virtual New Forest Half.....done!! 😁

Two years ago I wouldn’t have been able to run for a bus... C25K last year and by Christmas I’d smashed 10k. On New Years Day 2020 (with a bit of a shove from my brother) I signed up to run a Half Maraton in the New Forest in September...where it is mostly flat.... In June I had an infection in my foot...no running....In August I had all kinds of trouble with my knee...definitely no running....In September the Half Marathon became virtual... In October, still had a bad knee...thought I’d never be able to run again...😞

I posted here and had some fab comments and suggestions....then I went and had a gait analysis done... Awesome advice and a new pair of trainers from a lovely man in a shop in Southborough.... a few shortish runs later and I decided I had to have the New Forest Medal.... run Half Marathon distance, anywhere, by end of December to get it and a T shirt....

So today, I did it! 13.1 miles, around Bedgbury.... NOT FLAT... but I RAN A HALF MARATHON!!! Feeling a bit proud 😁🥳

It wasn’t fast (2hr 49) and I may not get off the sofa again today....but I am buzzing!
