What is it with Strava? I use it, only to link with my running buddies, I don't rely on it at all, and this morning is precisely why. I classically run between 5.30 and 5.45 p km, whatever distance I am doing, and as long I sustain that, then I am happy. I have always used Nike Run Club as I find it easy to use and it's reliable. Its timings match any "official" times I run in events, parkrun and so on, almost to the second, so I know it's accurate on distance and time.
Today, I ran 6 km with Nike & Strava. At each km the word in my ear from both apps was that I was averaging around 5.35 p km. Quite happy.
I pushed a bit in the last km (but not that much!) but when I pressed finish on my run at the end, Strava showed the 6km, but corrected me down to 5.22 p km, which I simply hadn't run! Nike, rightly, showed me at 5.33 p km.
Anyone know why it might do this? It can' just be a "glitch" on this run as this happens more often than not with Strava so it must be a built in issue.... PLUS the screen just before I pressed finished showed average 5:31 p km.
TIA for any feedback or tips!

Possibly elapsed time vs moving time? If youblook at strava your elapsed pace is 5:30 but moving pace is 5:22. Looking at the pace graph, at around 3k and 4.5k the pace drops - did you pause perhaps? Maybe NRC works on elapsed time. I think there is a setting in strava for auto stop - if you switch that off it should work on elapsed time. If you prefer, can you record in NRC and set it to auto feed to Strava. That way the data would match. I'm not sure if NRC can do that or not. Edit: just checked and there is no automatic transfer that way without using a third party, but that may still be preferable for you.
Thanks Linda, there's a spot on that particular run where I often have to slow nearly to a stop to cross the dual carriageway, however, today I trotted across without stopping! I did consciously slow just after that crossing as I was just struggling slightly with my breathing in the cold air, but I wouldn't expect Strava to "stop" just because I slow down for part of the distance (still running, not walking). I hadn't spotted that they record elapsed pace separately from moving pace, so that does go some way to explaining it at least (even though I still can't see how there is such a discrepancy).
Plus Nike always matches parkrun (where there are no roads to cross etc!) and Strava always is off by some margin.... Oh well, it's not disaster, just a bit annoying! And yes, thanks, I was pleased with the pace, I am nothing if not consistent! Destined never to be much quicker, but that's ok!
