Sadly my first race has been (inevitably!) cancelled and I must have known this was coming because my HM training has been and gone. Since my eldest started school 3 weeks ago, a niggly calf and now being ill for the past 5 days (and counting!) I am almost back to square 1.
Sorry to the HM training group on here and Strava that I probably won't be running an Autumn HM and will instead be planning for a Winter one.
Wishing everyone all the best with their running and hoping to get back out there soon! πββοΈπβ€

Sorry to read this and it's such a shame about your cancelled race, even though I'm not signed up for an actual race I can totally relate to your post and it's all very difficult at the moment but in the end you have to do what you feel happy with, good luck with your winter HM I'm looking forward to reading about it x
No worries at all! When you feel better I suggest some brisk walks to help keep you fit - increase the distance of the walks as much as you have time to, and you will still be training yourself for the half marathon but with less pressure on your calf and cardiovascular system. But take it easy for now and keep us posted xxx
It's just temporary and you'll get back to where you were so take your time to recover and go again. We are all behind you!
Ahh, disappointing to have it cancelled, but actually great that it now takes the pressure off you now; you have enough to deal with and running is supposed to be fun after all!!! I'm not sure I'm going to get a HM done this autumn either but there's always next spring 2020. the runs will always wait until we're ready. Take care and feel better soon π
Thanks everyone for the supportive comments. I'm hoping to feel better in time for a short run at the weekend and then build up again from there. It's certainly a strange time and really appreciate all of your support x
