So I’m a day late posting, I spent yesterday afternoon doing not a lot after my 10 mile virtual race yesterday!
Planned a different route to last week, minus paths with many nettles, mostly on the road with some tracks through some woods near the start and some fields at the end. Had meant to take pictures but I was obviously in the zone!
I smashed my 2 hour target to finish in 1:53:26 so was super happy with that. I was on target to do sub 1:45 until about the 14K mark but started to really struggle with the last section. The route went through lots of narrow alleyways with tight turns and staggered barriers that really disrupted my rhythm, and every time I had to slow I found it harder and harder to get going again. In reality I probably started out too fast to sustain the pace for the full distance.
Cut back week now so will rest up and do lots of stretching and get ready for the next step towards HM!
