Today I went on an 11.5 mile trail with my friends from club from Grosmont to Goathland (near Whitby) via 2 amazing waterfalls: Thomason Foss and the Mallyan Spout. I think it was one of my favourite trails ever! Absolutely stunning even though we were saturated through from 6 miles π§π€£
I managed to send the route to my garmin and had a go at using the map on my watch for directions. It was a fairly successful experiment and Iβll definitely use this feature again. Feeling lucky to live so close to such fabulous scenery. Just saying π

Sounds fabulous - the photos show the rain didn't put the dampener on anyone's spirits either! I love having a route map on my watch when I don't know where I am. My Garmin (Forerunner 235) doesn't support maps as such, but I use an app to display a very simple outline route and it definitely helps. One day maybe I'll treat mysef to a Garmin with full mapping support - I'll add it to my (already long) wishlist π
Youβve got to do this one! Itβs a 7 mile loop but we made it longer. Really stunning! We were absolutely saturated. Reminiscent of Redcar last year π€£
There are some steep steps coming out of the Mallyan Spout. Going to Thomasson Foss was more rock climbing tbh π€£ Itβs fab though! Hereβs the link to the simple route the misses out waterfall one.
Wow!! This looks epic. Beautiful scenery too! Look at you being a pro and sending it to your watch πππππ
11.5 miles too would have been tough even with that terrain and scenery. Fabulous pictures. So glad you enjoyed it and could do this again. Great to see you back out there and enjoying it πππ
Oh fantastic Tasha - wonderful run & scenery, good for you. ππ»π I take off my hat to you trail runners. - We had a family walk from Baysdale Abbey last week (also extremely wetπ) - the NY Moors are extra wonderful when the heather is in bloom - not sure that I could have run it though- as Billy Connolly once said, βYou donβt march through the heather, you fall through the heather!β π
