I new it was going to be raining all day but thats okay I seem to quite like running in it and when your from Scotland you kind of get used to it.
Used the cycle path again as I can concentrate on the run and not have to bother about the usual road crossings like on every other run.
Everything was going great , legs felt good and my breathing seems to get better all the time when running. I got to 9k and my music cut out . This is the second time this has happened on a long run in the rain but my bluetooth earphones are supposed to be waterproof. Not sure so I've emailed skullcandy.
So the last 7k and a bit was without music, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be but I would have preferred the music in my ears.
Anyway got home and i could have shook myself like the dog I was so wet.
Garmin logged the run and transferred to strava okay, just a bit slower than normal and what do you know I got a 10 mile pb of 1hr 42 minutes , 2 seconds so really pleased with that and well worth getting soaked to the skin. Off for a shower get all nice and dry then back out to get wet again with the dog.
Happy running ππββοΈπ

Congratulations on your 10 mile pb - what a fantastic surprise when you got home! I got soaked this morning too doing 11k and really enjoyed it - we're runners ππββοΈ
I mean I definitely prefer the rain. That sentence above makes no sense π€£
Well done Buddy! πA tremendous achievement. I love this distance run and I was so pleased reading this. I just got back too and got soaked but was in my element. So pleased that you are out there regularly and having moments like this. 15k PB too π₯congratulations and enjoy the rest of your day!
Excellent run and time for you today on your third and quickest 10 mile run in your favourite weather, rain β, I am sure soon you will be able to run a sub 1 hour 40 minute 10 miles.
As you know Saturday would have been Drumpellier Parkrun first birthday, I noticed that there were 93 running the Drumpellier (not) parkrun last week, that compares with 17 running Dunfermline (not) parkrun from Monday to Sunday, I do think that the difference was to do with it being Drumpellier's first birthday, once again congratulations on your PB of 1.42.02 for 10 miles. π ππΎ
Wow, what a fantastic run of PBs you are having currently - 10k, 15k, 10 miles. Brilliant ππ₯³ I could do with some rain - spent this afternoon in the pool in the garden as SW France sizzles at 35c. Too hot to even contemplate running π₯΅
Great run, goodness it was wet today - well done you running for that length of time. I managed 7k and hands were chilling - we had wind to match the rain and I'd opted not to run with thermal gloves to match my shorts and top. You doing the vitality thing- your way faster than me? Happy running π€
Thanks Grannyhugs, to look at me in the return you wouldn't know if I'd ran or jumped in the loch that I run by. We have no wind though and it was still about 13/14 degrees.
I'd got an email about the vitality running world cup thing not sure if I'm doing it yet ππ
I was so wet, on my return through back door, which nobody but cows can see in, I stripped off straight into washing machine. We were 12deg before chill and I had loads of trees dropping great dollops of rain. Not sure about vitality - where is fee going? Earlier event there was charity involved. I think I may be more inclined just to send entry fee straight to charity as I'll be running anyway.
When I read this, I read Beachcomber! I have no idea what's wrong with me today, so sorry! You can have all the congratulations with none of the caution!!! Really sorry Buddy π
Hi Lexi6, I am very concerned about the amount of Covid 19 cases in neighbouring Australia, they seem to be increasing daily, people in New Zealand will need to be careful especially if they are travelling to or coming back from Australia, I was just reading that things are getting particularly bad in care homes there, I just hope that no new cases occur where you are in New Zealand which is Covid 19 free.
Yes Alan its particularly bad in Melbourne with a large rise in cases and sadly now rising deaths. We are doing ok here but not getting complacent and I think our borders will be closed for a long time. Our enforced 2 weeks isolation for returning Kiwis is working and we havenβt had a community transmitted case for 85 days or so now. π€
Well done Buddy. Thatβs a great 10 mile run for you. I donβt mind running in the rain so long as itβs not very heavy rain! Hope youβve dried out now π
I love rain running too, I think as it stops me overheating coz I hate feeling too hot when I run...also makes me feel a bit crackers in a good way when people walk passed with hoods and brolleys π
