That was a hard run today. Just a 5K but my body just did not want to get into gear and my legs felt heavy. Came up to a very steep hill and I was like, nope, so I walked up to the top and then back down again. I eventually ran-walked the rest of the distance, thank goodness! I've found the last 3 runs quite difficult so hopefully my next run will be better!
I've been emotionally all over the place over the last few days, teary, sensitive and stressed out and I'm pretty sure it's PMS. Can PMS affect running?
So grateful for my run buddy Sharon who ran with me today and was great to encourage each other when we both found it difficult! 😀

Aww RC, but you still got into your gear and ran. Those runs are sent to try us, and you did it. Maybe it didn’t go as you’d planned, but who cares? Our bodies are good as telling us things and you’re clearly wasn’t up for the full whack today. That’s totally ok! 😀
PMS is bound to affect your running (those days are over for me now!! 🤣🤣), so be kind to yourself. ❤️
Thanks, and and least I finished the run! Yes I think so too, I get PMS every single time and sometimes get a particularly bad bout of it like this time. It's never affected my running before which is so annoying! I actually took a an extra day off running and cycling because my body was like nope.
Thank you! Yes it is indeed a hormonal storm! I just didn't have enough energy and skipped my last run and cycle ride of the week last week because I could feel that my body was just not up to it. Had a better run yesterday though!
It definitely effects my running... to the point that I have learnt not to bother at certain times. I just have to wait it out. I have found I am more likely to get injured, feel lousy and take longer to recover!!!
Yeah, my recovery is also slow. PMS has never really affected my running before, I think it's just a particularly bad bout of it unfortunately. My next run was much better though after skipping my last run of the week last week! Sometimes it's best to just listen to your body when it says rest
