My Asics had me down for a 12k run at pace today but I decided to switch to Sunday's run of 16k comfortable and do the bulk of it on the road. Well! First hurdle was the shortish sharp hill that comes before I'm warmed up which had the added spice of groups of teens taking up most of the space as they had just left the local senior school. And they were all lovely. Lots of smiles and moving out of the way for me.
The weather was lovely for the first hour and then became overcast and cold (by the end my hands were red, swollen and stiff, couldn't undo my belt, or unlock the door for a while ๐ฎ). My route was unremarkable, I've done it and parts of it many times, no uplifting views, but today my enjoyment of putting one foot in front of the other was amazing. I seemed to get stronger as I ran, not tiring at all and the last couple of k were uphill too. Called a halt at 16.5k even though I felt I could go on as that 12k pace is still waiting ๐.

Ooooh nooo. Typical innit! I donโt like gloves, and take them off at the earliest opportunity, but frostbite is a real possibility at the minute with this wind chill Shudder ๐ฌ
Thank you C3PO. Me neither which is why these extra special runs are to be cherished. Wishing you all the best for London (which will be special in all sorts of ways).
