Chipping Away

Golly, it was warm tonight but after the first loop I felt ok and went for a second. Gradually increasing the distance and continuing my recovery from knee problems that Sandraj eluded to in her post.

Great run GTFC, hope you cope with the heat okay. We've got rain but perfect running weather , for me anyway 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♂️

Now that was a very good run and time for you today GTFC, if you thought the heat was a bit much today, wait until Wednesday to Friday when the temperature where you are is to go up to 32C/90F and even in the early morning it is not to go below 18C and be very humid as well, horrible conditions for runners even first thing in the morning, unless you can get on a treadmill you should take running very gently.

Thank you. I don't have a treadmill but prefer to run always outside. How was your 10th 10k today?

I live in Cumbernauld which is 14 miles north east of Glasgow, halfway between Glasgow and the historic town of Stirling, famous for its castle, I ran the first run of week 8 of C25K up the Forth Walkway early in June 2018 and was thinking of running a 10K there one of those days.

This morning the temperature was 13C when I ran my tenth 10K, just as well, now at 1pm it's 24C, my time this morning was 73.38 which is one second quicker than last week, but I had my metromone app at 166 cadence, the same as last Thursday.

I saw 8 other runners one of which was running sub 25 minute 5K, what we call here a gazelle, overall I enjoyed my run this morning. 😊 🏃🏾

Excellent! Well done. I've been to Edinburgh at New Year, Glasgow and Stirling as well as Dumfries. One New Year we did a tour of The Highlands and I loved it up there. Congratulations on another milestone run. It's 27° here but I'm going to try a speedy 5k in my 4 mile run after work so hopefully it goes ok.

Good luck to you GTFC for your speedy 5K in 27C heat, elete athletes train in hot weather and that makes them run faster at race events, who knows you will be able to run a 45 minute 10K before long with all that training you are doing. 😊 🏃🏾

I did a PB!!

23.37! I am elated.

Congratulations on getting that 5K PB of 23.37, I was correct on predicting that it won't be too long before you can get a 45 minute 10K, now go and celebrate your wonderful PB time.

Fantastic run GTFC! It’s hard not to succumb to the heat and wilt, but you didn’t. Go you! 👊 😀
