Ran 3K today, great improvement!

Getting up to go for a run was hardwork this morning, don't know if you have mornings like that sometimes? I think we all do every now and again hahaha ๐Ÿ˜€ Put on some classic tunes from Pirates of the Caribbean (maybe I'll run like Jack Sparrow one day hahaha) and instantly felt more motivated to get out the door - I don't know about you but I need my music to get me going sometimes!

Still, I got out and ran 3K in just under 23 minutes which is a big improvement for me, so happy with it! And the weather here was significantly better compared to a few days ago, such lovely clear blue skies today! Looking forward to starting Half Marathon training in a few weeks time, will keep you updated!

Oh and check out my Easy Run playlist on spotify! You'll find some epic tracks from films that I love (including ones from The Pirates of the Caribbean) plus other instrumental tracks that help me keep on going too! open.spotify.com/playlist/0... ๐Ÿ˜€

Well done there ๐Ÿ‘ I am really nervous this morning as Iโ€™m about to go for my first run in over a week as Iโ€™ve been injured. My brother is coming at 9 and I plan to do a very gentle jog/walk with him.

Iโ€™ve never run with music as I donโ€™t like carrying my phone with me and prefer to be with my own thoughts but maybe I need to give it a try.

How did your run go? :-)

It went well thank you Redcello41 ๐Ÿ˜Š I only did a short 2km jog and that was enough. Itโ€™s still painful and it comes and goes but managing to keep running for now and thatโ€™s all that matters.

Good, I'm so pleased! Yes,keep in short and sweet for now and then you can gradually be able to build back up again. ๐Ÿ˜€

Absolutely. I really enjoy running with my brother. He makes it much easier for me by coaching me through it and we just spend the whole time chatting and reminiscing. He is about to start radiotherapy so he needs to maintain strength at this time.

Sorry to hear that, will be thinking of you both! That's another great thing about running, it's an opportunity to bond with other people too! ๐Ÿ˜€

Good morning, that was a nice run for you today RC41, I am sure you you enjoyed it and the music as well.

As you know I like walking, cycling and now running as well, however, I tend to have music with me only when I'm out walking, it's dangerous having headphones on while cycling, OK for running but be careful if running on busy roads.

This morning just for fun, just after nine I am going a short 5K cycle ride on the exact route as I ran my 14th Virtual Parkrun yesterday, I will put Mapmyride for cycleing, yesterday on my run my 5K time was 33.30, today on the bike it should be around 20 minutes.

The rain went off about a hour ago and it's quite sunny now so the short bike ๐Ÿšฒ ride should be enjoyable.

Well that was an eventful ride! Fell of my bike within the first 3 minutes of riding, saw a stork, saw a swan try to attack someone, got barked and lunged at by a dog, the canal path was closed so then I had to turn around, nearly came off my bike again because of a pothole, rode through glass twice by accident (I have no idea how I didn't get a puncture), the other canal path was closed so I had to turn around yet again, got attacked by some thorns, rode up a big hill which was quite tiring and scraped my left handle bar too close against a wall so nearly came off my bike again! It's a miracle I didn't fall into the river (I have come close on a bike ride I went on about a year ago hahaha)! All this happened in the space of about 45 minutes! And my bike fell over too when I had finished my ride because I hadn't propped it up against the wall properly while I was trying to open my front door! Sometimes, things just don't go to plan! I think I'll just stick to my normal cycling route next time...

My goodness me, my bike ride yesterday seems so boring after what happened on your bike ride yesterday, I just went on a 5K ride and completed it with NO falling off, NO storks were seen, NO swans attacking anyone although I did see several swans and ducks on my ride around the loch, I did not get lunged at by any dog, my route wasn't closed, just a nice cycle ride without any incidents.

Your bike ride yesterday was much more of an adventure than mine. I completed that 5K cycle ride in 20 minutes, I had to slow down to avoid bends and falling off the bike. altogether my bike ride lasted 45 minutes, I only timed the 5K part on the route I had run on Saturday,

Try not to fall off your bike again, that could cause an injury and even affect your running.

Yes my second bike ride of the week was a lot better thanks! I've got a 90 minute bike ride to do tomorrow morning, that's the longest I've gone for so far! :-)

That will be more than the half marathon distance of 13 miles, enjoy your 90 minutes bike ride tomorrow. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿšฒ

Your playlist looks like mine RC! I love epic music, especially TSFH and it definitely keeps me going on some runs. I always imagine that Iโ€™m running in my own movie with this music in my ear ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿ™‚

Well done RC. I was running to 'my faves of 2019' as chosen by spotify - flagging towards the end of my run I realised it was playing one of the 'yoga, meditation spa music' tracks I used to request via Alexa for my YWA sessions๐Ÿคฃ - not exactly motivational running music ๐Ÿ™„
