I put on my gear, did my stretches, foam rolled, strengthened, hydrated, got wet, cold, hot and blown about. For the times I couldn't but did, from disappointing runs to joyous ones, to step after step after step. For the people on here and for me.
Wow! What an amazing start to the day! πππͺπWell done on your HM!π You are right - so much about running depends on that "turning up" and putting those miles in - the return is so sweet though!
Congratulations to you GTFC (not the first person who has a username after a football club) on running a half marathon at 6.40 on a Sunday morning, I hope you enjoyed your run today, now you can relax for the rest of the day π.
Congratulations GTFC on your HM and I see you've already got your shiny new badge. Great run and what a brilliant time as well . πββοΈπββοΈππππππππ
Thank you. I was chuffed when linda9389 gave me one. I felt strong today and only struggled over the last few miles. I felt really comfy today with pace and breathing. Building my confidence again.
Thank you. I'd like to go 15 to 20 miles if I can overcome my knee problems but also to do HM quicker than 2.08.53 which is my best. Hopefully under 2 hours. How about yourself?
Marathon would be nice. I was training for June but the event was cancelled as expected. I also entered the New Forest Marathon which is September. The organisers are still optimistic so I'm back on the training plan. There's a high probability it will be cancelled.
Thank you so much!!! Who do you follow? The times my son and I have are do precious to me. From 4 to 18 we have this bond watching Town. He is also really supportive of my running too. This was my slowest time of the three times I've ran this distance but you know I felt the best for it running at a manageable pace for me and slowing a little. I've been reading about slower running from an article I saw on here and gave it a go.
The forums are terrific. Reading people's posts are a wellness tool for me.
I follow Huddersfield Town...my 2 big brothers used to take me when I was a little girl...and use me as their goalie while they practised...I had the bug by the time I went to school and could be found playing football with the boys rather than making daisy chains with the girls! Secondary school saw me on the football team and I was a part time linesman at the weekend for one of my brothers teams but running on the pitch and getting involved when a scuffle broke out between my brother and his opponents was my downfall...but I soon got known for it!!!
Running slower means you can run further more often than not...without being too cream crackered at the end...and you can take everything in while youβre out there π
If Iβm not quite feeling it on run day, I just have a little scan on here, put the inspiration in my pocket and off I go π
Love that about you! Gosh, I hope we draw you in the cup one day. We'd love to go to a big ground like yours. You're in safe hands with the Cowley Brothers. Last year my son and I played for a Grimsby Town Internet veterans team together. It was one of my dreams we could do this. I was 45 he was 17.
It is really inspiring on here and I enjoy The Running Channel too for even more inspiration.
Oh yes, that would be good, the John Smith stadium is stunning...both for football and concerts. That veterans team sounds amazing, how lovely that you got to fulfil one of your dreams together?
I have a girl and 2 boys but sadly, none of them are football enthusiasts, maybe if my hubby were and heβd taken them to the games since they started walking it mightβve been a different tale...but thereβs only me, unless the world cupβs on telly! But then, itβs me shouting at the telly...or running round the garden cheering and blowing my whistle while everyone laughs hysterically!! π€£π€£
