So I've not posted in these forums for a while. This forum and the people within were the building blocks of where I started and where it all began.
2022 began with such an amazing start. I had the holiday of a life time in Florida and met my girlfriends dad and wonderful step mom.
My plans for the year were to start off with 3 sprint Tri's on my return! Swimming coaching ticked off! Bike sprints all in order! Brick runs and the pain ๐คฃ practiced...
Then life kicks in....
My younger brother collapsed at work with a bleed on the brain. The air ambulance resuscitated him twice on the flight into Coventry hospital.
The next three weeks are a blur. He finally passed away in and end of life care unit in the hospital after having life support removed as there was no brain activity and no way back.
It's now a few months later and I realise how hard it is to motivate yourself just...just sometimes to even get out back running.
What I learnt with c25k and the amazing people within...is just sometimes put one foot in front of the other.
Every step we take is a win ๐ ๐ its kept me going and I know it will keep many people going too.
Xx

Oh Windoze, youโve gone through such a tough, tough time. Youโre right, C25k is so much more than learning to run. Big hugs from the Kat family ๐ค๐ค๐ค xxx
My heart goes out to you reading that. I'm so sorry for your loss ,what a shock for you and your family, so tragic and I can't imagine how you start to gather yourself to gain a sense of normality. It's great to have a focus & aim, exercise can be the best therapy - be gentle on yourself , like you said each step is a win. ๐x
Oh dear Windoze Iโm so sorry to hear your sad news. Thatโs truly awful ๐. What a terrible shock for you and your family. We can never know whatโs around the corner. Itโs very shocking and destabilising and I hope you can start to pick up the pieces and get back to some semblance of normality.
I hope that getting back to running will help you. Good luck ๐๐
Windoze, it is lovely to have you back on the forum. I was saddened to hear about your brother illness and tragic death, so sudden and a real shock (the Kats kept me informed). My heart goes out to you and your family. Hopefully we will see you again soon in Stratford, in your trainers, putting one foot in front of the otherโฆ. Bon courage my friend xx
As you will have found already Windoze, family friends and running, in different ways, are all really important components in finding a way to live with such a loss. Take good care of each other.
I am so very sorry to read this Windoze. What a heart-breaking time for you and everyone who loved your brother. It must have been a huge shock.
Your body will be your best guide and will tell you when to run and when to rest. Grief can be very hard on your physical stamina so take it easy and be kind to yourself.
So sorry to hear of your brother's untimely death Windoze - such a shock for you and your family. Keep on putting one foot in front of the other. I wish you hope for the way ahead. xx
So sorry to hear of the loss of your brother Windoze. So sad and a terrible shock for you and your family. Take it gently and do what feels right for you.
Oh no Windoze, I am so sorry to hear what you have been going through. My deepest sympathies to you and your family. Running is a great release when you are able to get out there again. Big hugs from us in Southsea.
