I really didn't want to run but then started to really enjoy it for the lat 10 minutes! I even picked up my pace!

So my alarm goes off at 6AM yesterday morning...didn't get up. Alarm goes off at 7AM so I dragged myself out of bed and put on my running trainers, warmed up (just like my physio said!) and then got out the door for my run! I went back to week 3 of C25K instead of week 5 that I had been doing for my last few runs to give my knee a break! My knee felt fine which was great! I remembered towards the end of my run why I was even doing this today (well now it's technically yesterday because I'm a day late for my post, sorry!) - I am a big Star Wars fan and of course it was May the 4th aka Star Wars Day and I have heard of various Star Wars virtual runs taking place over the last few years. So even though I wasn't running a virtual race, I just wanted to get out and run my own Star Wars based run and celebrate May the 4th/Star Wars Day hahaha! Once I had remembered why I was running, I cheered up and picked up my pace for the remainder of my Star Wars run! Just a shame I got into my run 10 minutes before the end hahaha! Next year I am definitely signing up for an official Star Wars virtual race on May 4th 2021! (I also find it funny that virtual races really don't appeal to me in general, but I'm more than happy to take part in a Star Wars related one hahahaha!) :-)

That all sounds so positive RC 🙂 Your recovery seems to be working then?

I must be in the minority when I say that I have never seen any of the Star Wars films. It’s my era so I should and even though I am a sci-fi fan I never got past the first 15 minutes of the first film. Now, Alien and Aliens is a different matter......

I've never watched one either! But I don't like any sci-fi stuff at all!

Ahhh that's too bad, they are very good! What genre do you like then? :-)

No sci-fi, nothing historical or horror, but anything else goes 😀

Thanks, yeah I'm hoping it's working! ooooh I thoroughly recommend The Star Wars films. I have never seen Alien, my mum says it is very scary apparently... :-)

I have tried three times now to watch the first film but after 10-15 minutes I switch off.....obviously not for me.

Whereas Alien I can watch again and again....😱

Hahaha yeah Star Wars isn't for everyone but I love it though! 😀

Ha, Star Wars, my son was an avid fan like you are, RC41,

Week 3 of C25K is the shortest workout of C25K so that was a sensible decision to run it, by all means run that Star Wars Virtual race on May 4th next year, hopefully by then parkruns will be back and social distancing will be a distant memory.

Well done RC, that all sounds very positive. The force was clearly with you! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

I have no idea if I’ve seen any of the Star Wars films - I’ve seen a few sci-fi movies, but they’re all the same to me! 🙄😅

Congratulations on doing so well! The medals available for virtual races in Norway right now are expensive and not very nice, so I won't be doing any virtual events. But the Star Wars events usually have good medals, so I'll have to make an effort to remember to sign up for one next year.

Yeah, I'm not so keen on the idea of virtual races to be honest but I thought a Star Wars based medal would be so cool! :-)
