We now have 80 (make that 87 and growing π) members in team HU! Woo hoo! Anyone else like to join?
Qualifying runs count from tomorrow. You need to run a minimum of 3km in 30 minutes before March 11th to qualify, but EVERY km you run during this period will count!
Vitality assure me their techies have now fixed the 'whoops 500' error with Strava - but time will tell π
Below is all the info I posted before re. signing up, joining team HU and checking everything is set up OK (there's nothing new in there though if you read the earlier post).
Happy Running Everyone - Go Team HU!!'
----
From earlier post re. signing up, joining team HU and checking you are properly linked:
If you havenβt signed up yet, but would like to represent your country for free, there is still time!
For anyone who has signed up already, it is worth checking now that everything is set up correctly (the last two βcheckingβ points below) β depending on your privacy settings, you may find none of your runs are going to be counted!
β Signing up
You can find out more and register here runningworldcup.com/?ref=o4...
You can choose to register with your full real name, or you can use your forum name (or a variant of it, so long as you enter something into both First and Last name). The VRWC support team have confirmed that forum names are OK, despite what it says on the registration screen!
β Joining the HU team
Once you have registered you can join the HU team which Sparkey5000 has kindly set up. You can join the HU team by following this link app.runningworldcup.com/tea...
You will be added to the team with whatever name you registered with π
For anyone who has already signed up but would like to change their name to reflect their HU name, you can do so by editing your profile via this link app.runningworldcup.com/pro...
β Do check you really have joined the HU team!
I suggest you double check that your name appears on the HU team member list (a few people have had problems and had to try more than once). To check, either use this link app.runningworldcup.com/teams or click on βTeamsβ on the left hand side of the website when you are signed into your account. HU should show, and if you click on members you should be able to see your name listed.
β Do check your runs are being picked up!
The final point I wanted to make is about the run trackers. Although runs donβt βcountβ towards the challenge until 5th March, if you have successfully linked your tracker you should already be able to see your runs when you use this link app.runningworldcup.com/runs or click on βMy runsβ on the left hand side of the website. Lots of people have had problems with their runs not showing, even though they believed they had successfully linked their tracker (strava, garmin, fitbit, etc.).
Firstly, you should see each of the trackers you have linked. If this isnβt as you expect, then something has gone wrong β most likely the sign in details you input when trying to link the tracker (note, this has nothing to do with the details you used to register, it is based on the sign in details you supply when you try to link the tracker).
Secondly, if you click on the tracker(s) listed, you should be able to see all runs registered by that tracker since you linked that tracker (and even further back in the case of Strava). If you canβt, then for some reason the VRWC system has not got access to your activities, despite having successfully signed into your tracker account. So far, all the instances we have looked at have arisen because of tight privacy options in the tracker. In my case, Strava was fine because I have pretty loose security, but nothing was being picked up from my Garmin; however, once I changed my Garmin privacy options my subsequent runs started to show (note, it doesnβt apply retrospectively which is why it is important to sort this before the qualifying period begins on 5th March).
