Just call me Barry Allen

Ok, for those of you who aren't up to speed (pun intended) with the superheroes of DC comics, Barry Allen is The Flash - The fastest man alive, although according to my watch this morning, I think I could give him a run for his money.

16Km in less than an hour? I think my GPS was working overtime today, because there isn't a chance I was running that fast. Many time my pace clocked 3min/km on my watch, and as much as I'd love to think that was the case, we all know that really wasn't true!

Nike Run Club was also tracking and gave me a much more realistic 10Km feedback.

Shame really, I was starting to think my Parkrun was gonna hit some kind of World Record as Strava now thinks my fastest 5k is just 13.38 and my 10k PB is now 28.07.

Haha, I've just googled the world record for a 10k

Men's : 26.17 - Kenenisa Bekele

Women's : 29.17 - Almaz Ayana

Me this morning (apparently) : 28.07

If only! 🤣

Lol, that's what I meant by the Olympics, great having a watch which gives you those times😉👍

Own it! 😄

I really want to, but it's totally screwed up my Strava stats,🤣

roseabi profile image
roseabiUltramarathon in reply toBike_and_Run

Yeah, I must say I have removed a couple of runs from Strava because of that!

I'm torn because I know I did the run, and that's all that matters, but without Strava, who's gonna tell me how good I am 🤣

If it isn't in Strava, did it even happen?

Ah, an oft-discussed dilemma! 😄😄😄

You could change the sport from 'Run' to 'Workout', so it's still there but doesn't figure in your running stats...

Haha. I wish I could just edit the GPS map it drew.

Think I'll try to create a manual post using the data from NRC.

Have you tried the strava distance correct feature? sometimes that works really well. Think it's only available in the web version though, not the app

Oh, I can see I can crop the beginning/end I use that often, but I haven't seen a distance correction tool. Will take another look

Click on your activity in strava. In the top right are the distance figures and the word 'distance' is clickable. You can give strava permission to update it to what it thinks, but if you don't like it you just click again and it reverts back to the original reading.

Hmm interesting stats there!! 7.53m/km or 16km/hr ??? Even before you get to strava that does not even compute. 😁

The 7m/km is my current pace. I was walking at the time of taking the photo. My watch vibrates and shows me the pace for the last 1km, I didn't get any shots of that, but most of them were 3m/km which was really confusing me as I ran

The winner of our race last week did 10miles in 55 mins !

If only at? But we'll done on your run anyway!

My friend had his 1st km recorded as 15 secs yesterday and also a trip in the Solent at the end! Blooming strava! ! 😂x
