So I'd last posted about leg pain. It seems to have eased off almost completely on my right leg bit my left leg is so painful and it's now in my foot as well. I attempted a steady run yesterday morning but had to stop half a mile in as my foot went. I'd gone for a gait analysis and i was told i had over pronation, which was more prominent in my left leg (which makes sense for the pain being worse here). I ran a steady 5k a few days ago and felt ok. I'm going to leave running for 2 weeks and see how i get on. Think I'll ride my bike go stay active. I'm gutted i can't run. I need to start training for a half marathon in May. Thanks for listening.

Injury
Much sympathy. It's teally tough being unable to run when there's an event booked and a training plan to be followed. I can definitely advocate cycling. Although I had over 4 months off running, I've come back fitter and faster and that can only be down to the cycling I took up. It also kept me sane - I was still getting the fresh air and the chance to push myself with a similar post ride high. Are you able to see a physio to get to the cause of the problem? That way you could also be doing some targeted exercises while you wait to run again. Wishing you a speedy recovery.
Yes I will look to arrange this in the New Year. Do you mind me asking what your injury was to keep you out for 4 months? I'm worried this will keep me out, I hope not. Thank you
I fracured my second metatarsal - a stress fracture, most likely caused by the running. You are unlikely to be out that long, but I'm a bit 'evangelical' in my need to let people know that an injury isn't necessarily the end of the world, even if you can't run for a while. The other thing I did was chair cardio and strength routines by Caroline Jordan on you tube - she specialises in 'hurt foot' routines (all low/zero impact) and is really positive. Take a look and see if anything on there inspires you. Stay positive, you will be back π
